In the spirit of the inane comparing AFL players to birds that Robert Murphy did the other day and as pure filler......If our players were fruit and vegetables what would they be? Billings and Hill would be strawberries, bruise easily and soft, Steele is a big banana, King is a green mango that we are just waiting for it to sweeten up, Dunstan is a Lychee, divisive, soft inside with a hard spiky shell, Wilkie is like a parsnip, no-one really notices him by himself but not bad as a part of a soup, PHunter is a cabbage. Coops would be like finding a perfect peach on an unproductive tree that's been ravaged by possums and never grown a single fruit before.
Vegan all stars

this is an insult to cabbage’s everywhere

Not to return the exhausting - life sapping really - debate on whither Xerri, can I be the first to ask those who know:

What is the geographical origin of his exotic surname and how is it pronounced?

Sherry?
Cherry?
Jerry?
Serry?
Kserry?
Erry?

I heard some north supporters calling him Cherry so it's probably anything but that. I was imagining something Zerri. Like the X in Xavier but after some research is seems to be an alternative spelling of Scerri. Maltese origin some suggestion that it means bad, evil or wicked.

Rors

sorry just replying in this thread because I couldn’t quote you from last thread. I think Jaeger is a great fit for us. He’s more than just an average player. And I’m not sold on his knees are shot… before he played a single game for Hawthorn, there was someone posting here that he’d be lucky if he ever played again due to his Patella. other than his first season at the Hawks, he’s had a pretty successful tenure there as an individual

I remember this too now that you mention it. From memory that poster was actually a practicing professional in that field themselves and was adamant that JOM would never play.
I think it was a Hawks poster and not a Saints one though. Probably chased away from the forum due to shame lol.

Haha it was Rors

And he wasn’t too far off the mark by the way.

Jaegar has been a massive fail for what the Hawks gave up for him.

Imagine the meltage on here if Hunts, Battle & Longy were in poo & wees & we had a bloke limping around on one leg.

Talking about wether Demons or Suns then this

St Kilda has not delisted the unrestricted free agent Dunstan but has told him to look for a new club. The Saints could earn free agency compensation if the 26-year-old earns a lucrative deal at his second club.

Finally.
Thats what i keep telling everyone.

It was a lucky miss. We were a lot further away than we imagined at the time. Still probably comparable to Hill.

I still worry we're still making bad decisions now and in 5 years we're going to be having more and more "what were we thinking" discussions ala Petracca and Billings so this sort of stuff still has me on edge

Don't mean to put you under the pump, who have we missed with our drafts comparable to the McCartin/ Petracca debacle? Still reckon Billings wasn't a mistake, just a good pick by the Bulldogs.

Clark
Coffield
King
Gresham

have been our top picks

Howard
Butler
Jones
Ryder
Higgins
Crouch

All were good recruits.

Hill can be argued that he cost too much for his output and that is fair enough

Then we have speculators
Sharman
Wilkie
Highmore
Byrnes
Connelly

I thnk we have not made any McCartin mistakes.

If Suns had taken both Kings, I would have gone Bailey Smith @ 4, but we can hardly say King is a bust.

In 6 years if we haven't won a flag, like ever team, we would all be saying we didn't do this or that, but that is the nature of football.
