Just days out from the round one clash against Melbourne, Fremantle had an injury scare with a star defender leaving the track.

The West Australian was there for the training run. This is what we saw.

When asked about ruckman Sean Darcy’s round one chances, coach Justin Longmuir said he’d have to get through Wednesday’s training session “with flying colours”.
“He’s missed a lot of the pre-season and I’ve always said it’ll be touch and go for round one,” Longmuir said.
“We’ll do some 18 v 18 out here and if he gets through that with flying colours and he feels really confident, we’ll consider him but the gut feel is it might need another week.”
Darcy trained and tested his strapped knee early, flying for marks, and twisting and turning.
Despite taking part in the full session, Fremantle’s number one ruckman never really went full tilt and will likely need at least another week to regain full fitness.
Sidekick Lloyd Meek was named to make his round one debut shortly before training and trained with his tail up.
Treacy undeterred

Days after being handed a two-game ban for his tackle on Perth Demon Brady Grey, Josh Treacy remained upbeat and trained strongly with his Fremantle teammates.

Treacy led strongly in a ball movement drill and took a series of strong marks as he awaits his fate at the WAFL tribunal on Wednesday night.

Longmuir said the club had spoken to Treacy about his on-field aggression with the tackle costing him a round one debut.

“It’s a thing in his game he needs to stamp out otherwise he’ll be in these situations more often,” Longmuir said.

“All players have areas of their game they need to work on and something he needs to work on is probably going to cost him a few weeks.”

Pearce’s not to be ping

One of the heart-in-mouth moments of the routine training session was when defender Alex Pearce was spotted gesturing to his hamstring.

With a trainer standing alongside him, the injury riddled Pearce pointed at the area in question before exiting the field for a quick physio consultation after warm up.

But the 25-year-old was back training within minutes and showed no ill effects of the earlier disturbance.

Star trio back in action

After missing Fremantle’s second pre-season derby against West Coast, star studded trio Caleb Serong, Luke Ryan and Adam Cerra look certain to play in round one.

Reigning rising star Serong was held out with general soreness, Cerra was battling a sore calf and Ryan was still nursing a sore back from a heavy hit in the first unofficial pre-season clash.

The three trained strongly and will be handy additions after proving their fitness ahead of round one this weekend.

Fremantle take on Melbourne from 10.45am on Saturday at the MCG.

Hard to tell from the top car park but I’m not too sure Tabs is on the track this morning. Not that there’s much happening.. a lot of handball and not much running.
I don't think today is an official session. Individual players just getting out there to work on some things perhaps?

I was only there for 5 minutes but didn’t seem to be too strenuous. There were 3 main groups and all the assistants out there too. Sonny couldn’t stay still out on the boundary, you can tell he’s keen to get amongst it.
