With Newman, Saad, Docherty and Parks available there is no need for SPS to play defence. Last week he played on the wing, I bloody hope he gets a run on the ball against the bombers Sunday đź‘Ś
I thought he was good on the wing. Better than I first thought. The dinky kicks shitted me but his game overall was good.
 
Cunners was not a big ball winner at U18 level and was always an athlete as much as he was a footballer.

He was also not expected to be drafted (by most) until the 25-40 range. So it's not like he was ever a sure thing.

The problems in his game are pretty much the same as they were five years ago. There is a very strong case for blaming that on lack of development. But perhaps he just lacks footy IQ and/or in-game focus.
Perhaps this is why he got BOG against * last year. Lack of footy IQ may require to put him in the middle where the ball is and let his other talents take over. See ball get ball and explode, is better than playing half forward with an inability to read play.
