What's the best thing to do the day after AFL Christmas? Start discussing AFL Christmas next year.

AFL Draft Central are already releasing a bit on the top prospects for next year.

Here's the list of WA players I have for next years draft that I know of now at least

Jacob van Rooyen (Tall Forward/Claremont)
Ethan Regan (General Forward/East Perth) (WEST COAST NGA)
Rhett Bazzo (Tall Defender/Swan Districts)
Lawson Humphries (General Defence/Swan Districts) (WEST COAST NGA)
Max Chipper (Outside Midfielder/Swan Districts)
Luke Taylor (Tall Forward/Swan Districts) (Brother of Sam Taylor)
Matthew Johnson (Inside Midfielder/Subiaco)
Neil Erasmus (Small Forward/Subiaco)
Richard Bartlett (General Forward/East Fremantle) (FREO NGA)
Joshua Browne (Balanced Midfielder/East Fremantle)
Corey Warner (Outside Midfielder/East Fremantle) (Brother of Chad Warner)
Judd McVee (Outside Midfielder/East Fremantle)
Taj Woewodin (General Defence/East Fremantle) (SON OF TAJ WOEWODIN/MELBOURNE FATHER SON)
Zachary Fleiner (Outside Midfielder/West Perth)
Lochlan Paton (Inside Midfielder/West Perth)
Seth Connor (General Defence/East Fremantle) (FREO NGA)
Jesse Motlop (Small Forward/South Fremantle) (FREO NGA)
Riley Colborne (Utility/South Fremantle) (FREO NGA)
Lachlan Turley (Tall Defender/South Fremantle)
Kai Holmes (General Forward/South Fremantle)
Jermaine Pickett (?/South Fremantle)
Jackson Merillo (General Forward/Perth)
Luke Polson (Tall Utility/Peel Thunder)

Of that list, the only ones I'm SURE will make it are Jacob van Rooyen, Matthew Johnson, Josh Browne, Corey Warner, Lawson Humphries, Jesse Motlop and Luke Polson.

The rest I either know not enough about, or didn't have a strong enough u17 season for me to be too confident.

Probably a few I missed because of PSA, but thats the list I have right now

Nick Daicos will go top 10 at least, most likely top 3.

Collingwood already traded out their first round pick and have points for a high bid.

A lot of NGA players for us.

We don't have a lot of points for bids.

have to remember you can’t match a bid in the top 20 anymore
so glad they've done this. As much as the AFL tried to make it all look legit, giving a finals team the best player in the draft and potentially "the next Buddy" is just ridiculous.

2021 is just going to be us all talking about how to get van Rooyen + the odd poster (like me) suggesting we also consider the non-WA KPFs.

To be fair, at this stage, Van Rooyen looks like the only decent one in the draft.

"Operation Get Van Rooyen" is in full effect
Seems that way but as wayToGo_ says there is bound to be at least one or two that are there abouts for first round calculations from Victoria. Also a decent chance someone undrafted this year might put themselves up.

Twomey has Erasmus in the top 10 to watch for next year. Erasmus was the HF in the Colts grand final that put on a clinic with 4 goals
Think he was saying 10 to watch, not necessarily who he thinks will be top 10. Erasmus looks a decent prospect but he's kicked 4 goals total at Colts level albeit all in a GF. Will need to show consistency throughout 2021 to bolt into top 10 contention.

I used to work with Rhett Bazzo’s old man Steve who played a couple of hundred for Swans back in the day , tough as nails old Baz but a sad story as he died really suddenly a few years back of skin cancer. A real big footy funeral down at Rushton park in Mandurah as Steve was coaching South Mandurah at the time in the Peel League

Hope young Rhett gets a chance, he’ll be hard at it if he’s anything like his dad
