If our compensation is anything like the last two raids we'll probably get an end of the last round draft pick, but can only use it for a rookie promo or something stupid. Imagine losing one of the best midfields in the league and getting chicken feed in return...
Whatever we get for Wardlaw in trade, looks it will be worse.

Sounds like Ellie Hampson might be coming as part of that trade somehow.
Unless if we just ontrade the pick.

I’m not fully across this trade period, or the talent available in the overage draft (anyone who didn’t get drafted last year), but it appears players are being traded for picks in this overage draft, rather than the end of year draft. But the compensation for Bodie and Bates will be the end of year draft.

Apparently the Suns have interest in a St Kilda KPD.

Sounds like it might be a three way trade.

As previously revealed by womens.afl, the club's own former AFLW leading goalkicker Caitlin Greiser is tipped to head to Richmond. That could unlock a deal for Wardlaw, with Gold Coast also likely to become involved in another three-club trade.

Suns midfielder Ellie Hampson has been tipped to head to the Lions as part of the Wardlaw move, while Suns defender Serene Watson and Saints defender Clara Fitzpatrick could also be involved to make it happen.

SIGNED, SEALED, DELIVERED All the PSP moves as they happened

The Tigers are also likely to be busy and could land forward Courtney Jones from the Suns,

Suns losing three best 22 players as well.

Basically, we lose Wardlaw, gain Hampson, and Gold Coast get what ever picks St Kilda is giving away.

If we do get Hampson, we've still got 5 list spots to fill.

I think that Orla will be back to her best this year too after a short turn around after Shoulder surgery for last year. She will be much more confident in it this year and hopefully be back to her best.
Hopefully she will help to settle Dunne in to the group.

My son had been an aflw supporter from the start. Dragged me to quite a few games.

He's done. Says he won't go to games because it's the only protest he can make against the way the league is being run.

Too many clubs jumping in and parasite-ing (he tells me that's a real word) off the hard work of the start up clubs.

Doesn't blame the girls leaving, just doesn't feel connected.

I think wadlaw was the straw that broke his back.
Yep ,3 of our best players in one hit is pretty hard to take.

It’s going to be an interesting season but I really rate starcevich as he builds team based on cohesiveness as opposed to sar players.

I can see bodie being replaceable by zimmie and bates possibly by Hampson. Tayla smith last season really started showing signs and if she comes on and Dakota can straighten up our kicking we should be okay.

Still a bit peeved though that Melbourne lost no one

Did a little reading and watched a few videos of Dunne last night.

She looks like she would be a natural forward of centre midfielder or third tall.

She’s tall (178cm), strong and fast. Breaks tackles easily, and is a natural for seeing the play unfold ahead of her, and running to space to receive a handball, then shooting on goal without the need to steady herself.

Depends how quickly she picks up the kicking. Main knock on odwyer is her kicking she tends to just put it on her boot

This is also what i dislike about aflw that it seems if you are half a female athlete you can pretty much play aflw or just code and sport hop despite not actually knowing muchh about the game or knowng the skills. Seems if you can get the ball then the aflw will have you and they'll workout how to play kick and handball and mark later on. Crazy

That is a by product of too many teams and nowhere near enough talent to go around.... there will be even more scores like there was last season, I don't watch it but if IIRC there were some games where teams were beaten by 10+ goals and struggled to even kick a single goal in reply.
