Melbourne City with the easier group and should have no problem advancing through to the knockout stage, Sydney FC not the hardest group but still challenging up against old foe Yokahama F. Marinos again this time with Kevin Muscat at the helm.

Not confident but that just could be last nights loss still being fresh.
Sydney FC have wasted a lot of opportunities in this competition. outstandingly the best team in the A-League over the past five years didn’t translate to the ACL. Not sure why should have done a lot better. May have missed the boat with this dynasty.

Is it really worth being in the ACL this year with these hubs?

Personally not too bothered to miss out on it this year. Next year there surely has to be a normal tournament. If China want to continue extreme lockdowns then CSL clubs should simply be excluded from the competition.

Probably wont happen but I would prefer to scrap Group stage matches and go back to two legged playoffs throughout. Nobody is interested in the group stage of the tournament just look at the attendance and TV coverage. It also costs these Asian teams a lot of money to participate.

FT Hoang Anh Gia Lai 1 V 0 Sydney FC

That concludes the group stage for the Aussie teams
So neither club advance to the second round, City a bit stiff due to the quark in this years competition.
