AFL Draft Combine starts tomorrow morning October 7 through to October 9 with 5 players added this week to the original 68, Murray Bushrangers Toby Murray (Forward/Ruck), Ryan Eyres (Key Defender/Forward/Chop out Ruck), Ethan Phillips (KPD, 2022 VFL Medalist), Harper Montgomery (Powa F/S medium utility) and mature aged Joe Richards (small forward from the Ovens and Murray League).

Does anyone think we are keeping our powder dry this year so we can have a go for Ashton Moir next year ?

What are we keeping in terms of powder dry? We may gain a future 3rd (say pick 48) from Collingwood but probably giving that to the Suns anyway.

This year we have a clear target in Rankine - which is awesome - but after that the lack of list spots, players that other teams desire to take from us and minimal draft capital is why we will be quiet in other areas - including the draft

Pretty sure they were added to state combines not the national but I could be wrong.

Pre Rankine I was hoping for a Phillipou and O Hollands draft hand if we could get in with a late first rounder but reckon he goes a bit earlier than most think now.
It would cause a bit of sphincter tightening at GC if we were somehow to pick him up.

Who knows with Verrall with his lack of exposure, paying likely 1st round/early 2nd for a ruckman is risky so I'd obviously go with Verrall who likely goes a fair bit later or perhaps even the rookie draft. with his lack of exposure at the Nationals unlike Barnett and Broadbent. Don't know how Barnett went in the 2km run but Verrall was poor by all accounts.
