Clark looks very good. One thing, and I mean this in the nicest way, if he's to be captain one day he might need to practice his public speaking.

It was good to be reminded by someone somewhere that while he's only 181c, the great P Chapman was 179!

It's too soon to write off the 2021 draftees; we've hardly seen some of them. And Wells/ Mackie must have seen something in them. Did we see Atkins as a future premiership mid when he was running round in the VFL for years?

As for tonight's pick, we've surely got enough mids/flankers competing for spots now. We should go for a speculative tall and/or defender IMO.

I actually thought he spoke quite well, and held his own when comparing his interview against those before him.

Jacob Ryan for me, if he gets to there. Good mid-sized type, kicks good, runs good, marks well. Can play wing or flanks.

I think we go for a taller type with pick 52. No one knows, but maybe someone like Northam.

I haven’t seen him linked specifically to any clubs in the media. Always harder to predict later picks and mature picked even more.
It doesn’t seem he’ll go in the second round as there are a lot of higher ranked players available there.
I think it’s unlikely he ends up with us but just as likely he doesn’t get drafted at all or maybe a rookie spot.

We seem linked with tall or small forwards which would be disappointing to me if we don’t get a defender.
I’d actually really like us to pick up a couple of defenders through the draft and rookies spots as I think our list really needs that.

Sounds like carlton might be keen on phillips with a later pick. A few clubs could use him.
We could use a kpf and a development ruck behind conway but a kpd is a more immediate need imo

How could it possibly be the "right call". They were literally guaranteed to have a choice of either Cadman or Wardlaw at 3. They also knew that neither WCE or Nth wanted Cadman. WCE needed the Giants to facilitate that trade otherwise they weren't doing anything. So in the end history will show they sacrificed Busslinger for the less than 5% chance that Cadman was gone or by some mircale that either of Nth or WCE found another partner with multiple first round capital. We saw with Essendon that basically was nobody. Their booby prize was Wardlaw at an absolute worst case

They literally completed wiped out an early Future 2nd by arrogantly trading early with the other selections. Another management blunder. No if, but's or maybe's.

Its was a perfect clustef#$.

I was referring to the brisbane pick trade not the pick 1 one.
Most draft watchers clearly agree this draft has about 5 really elite guys then 10 or so good ones then it thins out.
So trading up from the mid 20s to brisbanes 15 gave them access to a much better quality of player.
The issue is once sydney bid they should have passed and took an open draft player

As a side note how shambolic was the giants off-season.

Absolutely completely torched pick 12 which was the main piece of the Taranto trade to move from pick 3 to 1. They would have got Cadman anyway at 3.

Then the utter embarrassment in that they actually traded both pick 21 this year and their F2 next year (23) to trade up to #15 this year which then got swallowed up by the Rowston bid. Ie completely binned a F2 pick currently #23.

They are a complete and utter basket case.

He definitely is a bit more subdued. He is quietly confident and will be hungry to show that he can match it with bigger mids. He’s definitely a Viney/Selwood type from the vision.

I guess eveyone wants something different from it. Id be happy just to see the clubs ... the interview with the kids are alway inane ... but we are really try to make Brussel sprouts tasty with the product as it is.

Late pick night!!. Could be absolutely anybody with Wellsy. Esp as we are one and done. He has a pretty high hit rate but generally never picks a Bigfooty favourite.

I note with interest that in an interview on Monday Mitch Szybkowski said that Geel and Haw had spoken to him the most. Geez I liked his National Games on Foxtel.

I know we have other needs but if he’s available hopefully we can find a few talls in the rookie draft. Herald Sun saying Van Es will be long gone before our pick.

Prob more importantly hopefully nobody bids on Ted Clohesy. If a bid comes then we have a very difficult decision. If we match our National draft is over there and then. We have a few clubs that wouldn’t be on our Xmas card list at the minute.
