Watched a couple of games now and Darcy Edmunds from Vic Metro has caught the eye. Clean hands and kicks the ball beautifully, particularly to the advantage of his forwards. He's a natural wing who holds his position on the outside. Lewis Hayes also impressed, intercepting defender who can link up nicely in playing the ball out defence.

Way too early mock draft from the Roar.

Makes the case of Busslinger going to North at 1 and Mattaes Phillipou finding his way here.

Very unlikely to happen but I like the look of that

I’ll be wrong, but at the end of the year;

Gone: Amon, Dumont, Mayes, McIntee, Motlop, Fredrick.

Signing Teakle. With picks ~8-10, ~19 (Amon Compo) 49, 56, 80.

With luck, Philipou/Hollands/Hayes/Hewitt/Hustwaite (2 of), D’Aloia/Teal/Gilbee/Ryan, Scully, Lovelock. - Just feels very SA based.

I can see North taking Busslinger. You look to rebuild you probably start with the back 6.
I've no problems with Mattaes Phillipou ending up here at all that is an absolute win but we could really use Busslinger as well.
I can't see them taking Busslinger purely because I think they'll consider it to be a risky pick and they wouldn't want that. I see them taking Sheezel.

As for us, I think the best scenario for us would be Phillipou and Hustwaite/Hayes or Busslinger and Hollands/D'Aloia

If Hayes is there with our 2nd pick (Amon compo) would be perfect. From little bits of seen can play that last line of defence with that damaging speed. Similar to Sam Frost hopefully with less brain fades.

Problem with Hayes is his body of work for the season is good and SA made him look like the second coming of Matthew Scarlett in the last game he played. Think he's gone from gettable for a high 2nd round pick to somewhere mid teens.

If we go rated KPD in the draft thinking we go early or rookie and hope.

Hi Port Fans & Draft Watchers - pardon the intrusion I come in peace.

For those who might be interested I've created a thread over at the Draft hub about the BigFooty 2022 National Draft Crowdsourced Rankings (!!) which allows BF draft fans like yourself to participate in creating a 'crowdsourced player power ranking'. You can read about it on that thread or go straight to the survey site here to cast your own votes towards a crowdsourced ranking.

It's got close to 4000 votes since launching this morning so whether you're a draft guru or just an interested onlooker we'd love to have your input into this different approach to ranking the prospective draftees for 2022.

It's very simple - just go to Who is the better prospect for the 2022 AFL National Draft? and rank the player you think is better from each random pair that are shown...do it as many times as you like and see what player combos you get shown.

Below is a snapshot of the top 10 so far but you can see the full results here. Love to have you join in!

Note: the survey is about choosing which player you think is the better prospect so the scores you see below are the estimated chance (based on the BigFooty crowd responses) that a player will win (i.e. will be chosen) against any other randomly chosen player (from the pre-populated list of ~45 top prospects). For example, a score of 100 means the player is predicted to be selected every time and a score of 0 means the player is predicted to not be selected every time.

Cheers Jonts the overall results (like I posted above but for the whole list of ~40 players) are available at the site but I can also export the votes and then segment them over time so yes I think what you say would be possible and be interesting...no doubt things will change as we get closer to the day.

Dumont been alright this season hasn't he?

This is the first edition of AFL.com.au's Phantom Form Guide for 2022 – a ranking of the best 25 prospects in this year's draft pool. It will be updated monthly in the lead up to November's draft, with ordering set to change with spikes (or dips) in form.

The order is not a mock draft and does not take into account where the players will get drafted, nor is it a prediction of where father-son or Academy bids may come.

Busslinger appears to be held together with strapping tape like Bruce Reid another tall West Australian.

Since Sheezel is a pipe dream...Brayden George thanks. 186cm and 87kg. Ready to go Round 1 next year and replace Rozee in the forward line - gives a point of difference between Powell-Pepper, Fantasia and whichever mid is resting forward. Some comments:

He’s as good – if not a better – kick than Josh Rachele for goal. Genuine power.

"George is an explosive forward who can also take turns through the midfield and use his power and force around the ball. But around goal is where he has excelled so far this season, including a five-goal bag against Gippsland in round one and a six-goal haul against the Rebels in round five. A super kick of the footy."

"He's got some remarkable tools, both football fundamentals and athletically, so he has some really special talents. He's still learning to put them all together and package them up, but when he gets it right he's an impressive player."

"The mercurial forward was a menace inside 50 all day, able to get on the board mostly as a leading target. His conversion from a variety of positions was sound, having no trouble making the distance from outside 50, and proving a sure thing from anywhere closer. When allowed a run and jump at the ball, George was unstoppable, and brings that kind of threat on top of his crafty ground level game."

He'll have no problem finding space to run and jump at the ball with Dixon, Marshall and Georgiades taking the heat off him. Our problem is the same as it has always been - we generate all these inside 50s but we don't have the difference of firepower in our forward line to score.

Not that he has been bad, but Average in an Average team at 27-28, would rather feed these games, coaching and development recourses, or midfield minutes into Mead, Burgman, Sinn, Philipou…

I think Gray has been better in the Dumont roll over the last two-three weeks than Dumont has been all year, who would you rather keep for one last year?

Dumont was a good selection of we were a top 4 team this year that came in for Drew or Wines, I genuinely believe it hurt us playing all three. Better value in a younger Drew and Wines may be our next skipper. As soon as we are out of that ‘top 4’ window you turn around as quick as possible 10 kids in two years or risk doing an Essendon or a Carlton.

Perhaps Dumont's future depends on whether Robbie retires at the end of this season or not.

I don’t believe bont is a very good comparison for Mattaes. Mattaes is much better in the air, I’m not sure they really play the same at all.

Tho any mid over 190cm who is quicker will always be compared to bont.

Im not sure who i would compare him to
Is Mattaes actually quick, good engine yeah but not sure on quick or explosive

We need a forward ruck unless lord/visente can play that roll at AFL.
Teakle says hello
You think lemmey would be available that late?

I would have thought he would go in the top 5?

Hes the highest rated kf imo (tho I haven’t watched Jefferson yet so can’t speak about him)

Love to hear your thoughts on lemmey (and any other prospects.
I may have had him to high at 12
