He shouldn't. I'd be happy with Scully if he doesn't but Lemmy could actually slide that far.
There aren’t 39 kids in the draft able to complete his body of work done at League footy level this year, and he did his last year…

A bit of the Rozee second year blues about it.

Pick 54 might become mid 40s once the 2 bids for Fletcher and Ashcroft for Brisbane come through and Alwyn Davey Jnr bid comes for Essendon.

By the time we got to our early 60s picks last year, they were late 50s, and that was with Darcy & Daicos going 2 & 4. Once you get into the teens, bid matching doesn't take up too many picks.

Port wont have pick in the top 70 until 2025...
Did alright with Howard, Frampton and Austin - upgraded all the picks over subsequent drafts.

We need to take 3 ‘live’ selections, which can include rookie upgrades.

Some late options:
  • van es
  • Tom Scully
  • Harry Lemmey
  • phoenix foster
  • Archie lovelace
  • rye Penny, on his athleticism alone
  • Ethan Phillips

Our two father sons and academy option all seem like rookie options.

Maybe we get luck and Harry Barnett falls to us.

Perhaps we draft some delisted players - from recollection this allows you to only give them a one year contract

After Rioli, our first pick could be 81 lol

If we were going to blow up a draft this would be the one. 81 will turn into 50-55 when clubs pass and noone knows enough to rank the difference between 35-55. Anything outside of the 2nd round is going to be a bigger gamble than usual.

This is a bit different given that Brisbane need upto 6-7 picks, maybe more to match Ashcroft and Fletcher. Then 2-3 picks matching Alwyn Davey Jnr. I think there'll be 6-7 spots that'll move potentially

What do you think we will have to give up for JHF? Missio
Interesting Pick 8 and a player OR pick 8 and a future first.

If I am north I want pick 8, a future first and a player, this would be stupidity from port. OK if we had a great list but will are still without a key defender. North can run the line that he was the number 1 pick, yeah only because they were to weak to call out Daicos at pick one, a move that still has me shaking my head.

Someone else asked who at pick 57. No idea at the moment but throw a dart board at anyone who is 194cm or more that can run jump and push people off the ball , even better if they know how to punch a ball, then the dream is complete if they can catch and kick it.

History would say whoever is player 30 on your list, you will be able to get them at pick 57. I would not be surprised if Lemmey falls that far.

Cheers Mission.

That sounds a bit like van es. Well I’m not so sure how well he’s know to kick the ball, but he’s a big defender who likes to stand under it.

I don’t know if he has the mobility / intercepting game to be a top key defender, but still he’s a big that looks to know how to play big.

He is mobile and has good closing speed but isn't an intercept marker. More of a lockdown defender. His kicking is hit and miss from what I've seen. I guess that's why he's in the 40s and not top10

I don’t really think of him as mobile (not meaning he is slow but just don’t think he moves as well as some others do) but may be wrong. He certainly does not move like Hayes does who seems to have quite good lateral movement from what I’ve seen. Watching both players in the same games and Hayes moves like a queen in chess, while van es has to be straight at the ball. . But this is perception built off of a handful of games…

I’m keen on taking a punt on nearly any tall defender really as long as we’re trying.

Weddle is the guy I really like albeit he’s not the big defender we want, and late talk seems to have him higher than I thought he might be.

If we’re picking late in the draft though, I fully expect Parker to call out guys I know nothing about.

We always surprise on draft night 😆

Might as well shut this thread down🤣
We will have nothing of consequence left to draft with at this rate . ( unless we do another Robbie)
