With the picks we have, I think we'll take the best available this year, rather than draft for needs.

The first ten to twelve picks generally put up by phantom draft posters look locks, aside from Allen, who seems to be a real bolter!

The next 30 to 40 blokes you could throw a blanket over - none tick every box, but several tix the majority of boxes, and so it depends on how individual clubs rate them and if they think they can iron out any deficiencies, as to where they land.

You could draft someone at #16 and another at #43 and either one could be seen to be as good as the other, or both could have equally as good of a career.

I'll take what we get in the Draft and not be too fussed.

Jakob Ryan is probably the best player available at that point but he is the exact player we don't need.

We would need to pick him but it is probably one of the worst case scenarios. If we know that Bergman is going to leave at the end of 23 then it might make some sense I guess.

If they are all roughly the same risk then pick for needs.

Seems like Lemmey might be a rookie draft selection at this rate looking at all the latest draft boards. I think we really should be drafting Ethan Phillips with either selection as a ready made Key Defender

Kevin (Shifter) Sheehan doesn't have Keeler, Lemmey, Van Es, Phillips or Dowling in his top 40. Keeler, Van Es and Lemmey as talls have a higher ceiling than Phillips, who as a 23 year old, is close to his peak already. I'm not convinced that Phillips as a zone off and pick off the interception defender will really work at AFL and more particularly for us. We need a strong one on one defender. Van ES apparently is strong one on one.

Tony Bamford's assessment of Isaac Keeler​

”Keels is clearly, in our eyes, the most naturally gifted footballer in his age group. ”Isaac needed to learn at the start of the year that he needed to pull his finger out. ”And to his credit, he did it which was great. ”We started to see some more consistency in both contests, whether it be an aerial contest or a ruck contest. ”We saw him gut running 30, 40, 60m in games which we hadn’t seen before.
”Credit to North Adelaide and Brooksy (U18 coach Craig Brooks) for getting Isaac up around the ground in the ruck and not just leaving him as a forward.
”That has certainly helped his football. Isaac going up into the ruck allowed him to be around the contest more often which required him to defend early by tackling and harrassing, instead of just waiting for his teammates to give him the ball.

Course he ****ing does. How many mock draft's does he have to do selecting mature agers to never eventuate year on year
