Twomey seems to think there's some chance Hayes will slide, maybe he's been telling clubs his dream is to play footy with his brother who is staying at Port. 😁

Is Lemmey mentioned at all by Twomey with any club? Rookie Me Central didn't mention him at all and Knightmare at ESPN had him out to the 50s. Seems odd.
Maybe he just read my post a few days ago 😉

Looking forward to this board melting when it skips over Lemmey and other tall options at 33
Yeah, I'd like to think we'd grab 2 or 3 talls, but we know drafting talls isn't high on our priorities usually. I'm expecting us to pick up some flanker at 33 with 'we think <X> could move into the midfield at some point'. Most likely similar at 60, with 'we had an eye on some talls, but <Y> was too good to pass up'.

I want us to draft Hugh Davies because he looks like a carrot-top Milan Faletic.

Inner Sanctum Phantom Draft

Port get Charlie Clarke and James Van Es.

I would take that and run.

That would be epic. Won’t hold my breath

It seems Hustwaite is sliding down boards and phantoms...

If we managed to get him, I would be over the moon.

Depends on his potential as a defender

Every year people get excited about those 193cm+ mids and every year they fail. Bont and Cripps are the exception, not the norm.

To be fair, the height thing isn't why I like him, it's just a bonus. I love how clean his hands are when the ball hits the deck, his composure in traffic and his neat skills. The fact he's an aerial threat due to his size is an awesome extra.

I'm curious who Geelong are being gifted with their top 10 pick.

2022 Draft ProspectsJhye Clark
TeamsGeelong Falcons/Vic Country
PositionMidfielder
Date of Birth23/07/2004
Height180cm
Weight77kg

Clark doesn't leave anything out there. He's the midfielder who tries no matter what – to win the ball, to help a teammate, to lay a shepherd or tackle and to do the team thing. He was captain of Vic Country and the Geelong Falcons this season and was also named his state side's most valuable player for a championships where he averaged 23 disposals. Clark is no fuss and plays in a similar manner where clubs will know the full package of what he offers.

Latest intel: The Power won’t be big players in this year’s draft after their frantic trade period, so their best hope is someone high on their draft board falls down the order. Rival clubs believe they’ll look at taking a key defender with one of their selections, with James Van Es and Jed Adams both linked to the club. Although if gun WA small forward-midfielder Darcy Jones is still on the board by the time they pick, the Power would find it hard to ignore him. Port Fairy product Toby McMullin — the son of Ian McMullin, who kicked 55 goals from 49 AFL games for Collingwood and Essendon in the late 1980s and early 90s — has also reportedly attracted some interest from the Power.

Best-case scenario: Jones and/or Lewis Hayes — the brother of current Power ruck Sam Hayes — are both available at the Power’s first draft selection and one of Van Es or McMullin slips to their Pick 60.

Worst-case scenario: Their aggressive trade period has left them with no capital — either in this year’s or next year’s draft — to work with, so they don’t get a draft board ‘slider’.

If this guy at Foxsports has been talking to Parker, or other club recruiters are right about what Parker is going after, and he is close to the mark, then we are looking for the same thing from a KPD. From their Rookie me Central profiles. We want good one on one KPD who makes good decision re their defensive work and we don't care that they aren't that good with ground balls.

On the AFL website only 15 of the first 54 picks are not tied to trades and swaps. The Draft ain't what it used to be.

That's because Jason Horne-Francis broke the draft. Ask any Victorian journo.

Maybe he’s not as good as some posters think.
You would think with the lack of depth in this draft anyone outside the top 30 would be bog average and if he’s a 50s pick I would pass on him at 33.
