Some intriguing talls in this draft class. A Busslinger + Hayes/Hustwaite haul could really shore up our key position stocks for the long term. AA quality key defenders are worth an increment win or two per year at Adelaide Oval.

I’m still bamboozled what’s happening with Tom Scully but would love it if we could grab him with a later pick as well.

Yea what’s happened with Scully? I appreciate the concerns re contested marking but he looks to be a massive slider. Imagine getting him with our third rounder. Wonder if he could play defence?

What’s Hustwaite like?

Apart from Munkara and Sheezel, any other small forwards?

Is there still the rule re academy players being able to cat B rookie them? Would Barkla fit that category? And Montie as a rookie?

Scully has just been marked down due to the perception he's a deep forward and not much else at this point.
Think Lemmey may have turned the corner and be back on the way up.
Cowan stays under notice for being a hard nosed campaigner.

I cant see North getting 1 & 2. They'll get an end of first round.

Its a really interesting draft and outside of Ashcroft, you can probably throw a blanket over about 6-8 guys who could all go anywhere from 2-10.

Can see West Coast going Hewett with their pick.

Adelaides pick will be really interesting.
  • Wardlaw would be favourite if he's there. Tsatas as well. They need some inside bulls as Crouch is clearly gone, Laird and Keays are both hopeless, Hately looks 50/50 whether he's good enough, Pedlar cant get a game and their others like Schoenberg, Sholl, Dawson etc. look better on the outside
  • Phillipou would be right up there as the DP hybrid and clear best of the locals
  • Busslinger could be a big chance too as they only have 1 quality KPD in Butts. Murray is not looking up to it, seems like Frampton and McAseys names have already been crossed out and Worrell cant get a game.
  • Sheezel would be right up there too as their Rozee type x-factor fwd/mid. They have the worst set of small forwards ever assembled so he would give them some instant excitement with midfield potential too.

Will be Adelaides pick that really dictates the direction of the draft

Jacob Kostanty perhaps the only other small forward I think that has a high ceiling. High pressure small forward with ability to sneak out of packs and is a reliable set shot and has a natural goal sense

Guess it's really hard to predict things without knowing whether North are getting pick 2 or 19. If it's 2, you'd suspect they take Wardlaw and Sheezel. If not, just Wardlaw. Agree Hewett will likely go to Eagles.

Sheezel is arguably the most exciting player in this draft and if he's their at Crows' pick they'd have to take him.

If Sheezel isn't there then the Crows have to take Tsatas. They badly need a quality midfielder.

If draft order doesn't change,

Ashcroft to Lions, Wardlaw to Kangas, Hewett to Eagles, Sheezel to Crows, Jhye Clark to Bombers, Tsatas to Hawks

GWS are the ones that'll decide rest of the draft. I think they need a Key Forward so will go for Aaron Cadman. I think their midfield and Key Defender stocks are good for now so can't see them going for Busslinger or Phillipou atm.
