South Australia has had 13 players invited after its carnival, with midfielder/forward Mattaes Phillipou and ruckman Harry Barnett among their potential first-round picks:

Lewis Hayes 197cm 81kg KPD featured on Road to the draft today, Yes Sam’s brother. At any other club he’d be a shoe in exactly what we need but, with the treatment of Sam this year would not be surprised at all if Lewis got told to run as far as he can.

The club who does pick up Sam Hayes will have the bargaining power of picking up his bro too and this will be a massive downfall for us

Thing about Lewis is his rate of improvement over the last couple of months and his birthday 17-12-2004. He's almost in next years draft.

I'm not letting Sam leave on the possibility we pick up Lewis alone. I'm almost expecting the Bulldogs to pick up Sam and take Lewis with their 1st pick.

1 - Phillipou

2 - Lewis Hayes

3 - Depends on where the pick is. If it's another early to mid second rounder, I'd be taking one of Kostanty, Drury or Darcy Jones

Not trading next year's first for Dunkley, could be another low pick especially if Ken stays

Not sure on Kostanty , seems inconsistent at moment , do like Darcy Jones , not sure where he fits position wise, maybe Dowling if he gets thru to pick 51 which is unlikely. Both could play Wing / half forward.

Dunkley I don't completely mind next year's pick maybe try and get something back but there's 5 years of knowing he's an A Grade mid and on his performance last week the reality is he's at least in the top 4 our current line up
Rozee/Butters/Dunkley/Ollie. If Dunkley were in this year's draft he's going very early.

Power Rankings July. Bailey Humphrey one game but take notice. Some ranked him top 10 before he was injured might get back there in a few weeks.

"Having missed Vic Country’s three games thus far due to an untimely injury, Humphrey came back with a vengeance via the NAB League. He was not only best afield, but arguably the best player competition-wide in Round 14 with 31 disposals, 12 marks, four goals and five behinds in an even 100-point romp of the Northern Knights. Having popped up everywhere on the day, recruiters were left impressed and he looks a chance to be included within the first round bracket – well within that range, for some."
GIPPSLAND Power captain Bailey Humphrey looks set to be this year's draft bolter, with the talented forward/midfielder storming into top-10 contention.

Humphrey started his season in strong form, booting three goals in round one and four in round three of the NAB League season, but missed the NAB AFL Under-18 Championships with a knee injury.

He returned in round 14 after six weeks out with a best-on-ground performance against the Northern Knights, kicking 4.5 from 31 disposals and 12 marks.

The 185cm talent started Sunday's Power clash in a similar vein, kicking 1.3 in the first term in a dominant display. He finished with 1.4 from 16 disposals but was off the field for much of the second half after receiving a knock to the head.

Recruiters are excited by Humphrey's power and explosiveness, with the 17-year-old showing exciting traits in the forward line as well as through the midfield. He will likely line up for Vic Country in the carnival decider against Vic Metro in Grand Final week.

He could have a similar rise to Clayton Oliver, who didn't feature in Vic Country's mid-year carnival but stormed into clubs' thoughts as a top-10 selection with a strong back half of the season before Melbourne drafted him with pick No.4 in 2015.

Gippsland sits on top of the NAB League ladder so Humphrey will also have finals to press his claims as clubs assess his early credentials. – Callum Twomey

I don't care who it is as long as it's a guy who plays forward/mid.

With Ken staying, we are more likely to finish bottom 4 than finish in top 8. Next year's pick and this year's pick is not to be traded unless it's for JHF.

I think at AFL level, Darcy Jones is more likely to play small forward which I don't mind given that he's a high pressure player and we need that up front. Also someone who has some speed.

Dowling would be a nice pick up if he falls to 51. With the "serious changes" coming in the off-season, I wouldn't be surprised if we traded a player for 1st or 2nd rounder

Bailey Humphrey my current most wanted. I like Phillipou a lot but we have Rozee and Butters for that skill and classiness, I'd love a brute force ball winner with power who can go forward.

I also would absolutely be over the moon with picking up Kobe Ryan late in the draft. I think he's got a lot of potential as both an inside and outside mid with his attack on the ball in the packs as well as his reading of the play and positioning and he's killing it at under 18 level. Not sure why he's not higher on draft boards to be honest.

I'd be really surprised if we don't end up with a number of picks before 51. Think Dowling anytime after 30 is a good pick up.

Only seen a highlights package of Kobe Ryan but loved what I seen.

Beau Tedcastle.
177cm
Weight: 74kg
Territorian Small Forward kicks goals.
He's interesting because where ever you find a match day write up on him running players down and tackling get a mention.

I would too

I'd like one of Humphrey or Phillipou with our first pick.

Then Lewis Hayes with the Amon Compo if he's around. If not, maybe targetting Van Es with a later pick and going with the best small forward available with our Amon compo

Love that he got in his ear straight away too. Right attitude.

Haven't watched any of the juniors so I'm no draft expert, but saw this guy mentioned on the draft board as a late riser, and a bit of a Clayton Oliver-ish type player. 184cm 86kg mid-forward. Apparently needs to tidy up his kicking a bit though.
