Why is Ashcroft rated so highly? Hasn’t done anything yet
He's actually done a lot more than Sinn despite not even being on an AFL list, which is a bit of a worry.

This is the September edition of the Phantom Form Guide – the third of this year – where we rank the leading 30 draft prospects of this season. It does not take into account where they will be selected, nor where bids on father-son or Academy players may fall, but is simply a ranking of the top group of players in 2022.

Both highly rated youngsters who have done nothing at afl level?

Given that it’s only been a year, I think Sinn deserves be rated based on the talent he showed at junior level
We do not know whether his “groin” injury, which seems to have kept him out of football for an entire year, limits his career. He slid in the draft and maybe other clubs knew something we did not. Time will tell whether he is injury prone or recovers to be resilient. But until he does, there is a question mark over him.

Sinn hasn't done anything at junior level since about three years ago either. We're ranking him at his form from the age where James Sellar looked like a #1 draft pick.

Cal Twomeys Top 30.

I love how Sam Phillipou is an ex Bulldog, after 3 games. Yet the fact he played 44 games for PAMFC is completely ignored.

For the experts, this listing has Phillipou, Busslinger, Hollands, Hewett, Jefferson, Mackenzie, Ginbie and Clark as players that may fall in our range. Does that sound about right?

Would we stretch for the Key Back, would we load up with another key forward or do we go the safe midfielder bet?

Would love Sheezel out of anyone in this draft doubt his there with our pick. Have also heard he will go straight home after 2 years.
Yeah if we had pick one, from what I’ve seen and with our list;
Sheezel>Pou>Wardlaw>Humphries

Unfortunately Ashcroft screams Marc Murphy to me, just a Mehh mid, doesn’t shift the needle.

Hope we
I am aware he had a good preseason and was touted as having an early debut - which he did in round 2. But it still stands he was out all year and his resilience unproven.
You asked why he was so highly touted, go watch the game again.

Pace and defensive work rate, has built a very impressive, powerful frame.

Highly touted and resilience don’t go hand in hand. He could very well be our next Bowen Lockwood :(

Skinner and McEntee also had standout pre-seasons, apparently.
Apparently, Skimmer did have a standout Preseason, had a floor of Zero so anything was better than he had punched out the previous. McIntee played two very impressive games at the backend of the season and became a first 18 selection. I don’t see your point?

Sinn is a genuine talent. Elite athlete and gun footballing traits.

Having said that, until he gets a regular run on the park I’m going to be worried. Plenty of very good footballers don’t make it after their body fails them.

My concern isn’t that we drafted him, he was an excellent choice, my concern was in the trade process that we talked up a trade haul for a departing ruck, folded for **** all, then gave away a future pick to move up 2 spots.

Drafting - good
Trading - bad

I didn’t mind the Moves we made to get Sinn because I think we’ve had a strategy for a while of bringing in a much first round talent as possible, in particular targeting specific players in the first round.

These trades look likes overs at the time but as long as your drafting great players at the picks I think it’s fine.
