Davies - Meh
Emmett - 1 Schultz was enough for me
Knobel - Fine
Wagner - Will do well to break Brett Bewley's games record

I am trying not to rage.

Emmett does give those Schultz vibes.

Every since Shultz was put on the rookie list it means every time he comes out of contract he is effectively a delisted free agent.

So could be picked up by any other club with no recompense to Freo. Since Shultz’s good buddy Acres has left the club, maybe the Emmett pick up is insurance as a like for like!

We would get compensation, but it won't be a lot.

I'm not seeing Schulz here. People kept complaining about our short people forward. This guy is taller and built like a tank plus is quick and quite explosive.

DOB: 30 November 2001 (20)
POSITION: General forward
HEIGHT: 187cm
WEIGHT: 88kg
DRAFTED FROM: Sturt
Fair enough, one Corbett is also enough for me though. I'm sure our pool of C- grade forwards will prevail.

Purely the rage speaking at the moment, not targetted at you or your opinion

I kinda respect the club for going two mature players. We've identified our window and our core and we dont want to piss fart around with more kids. We identified two projects in Davies and Knobel that we know we can stash and take our time with.

Do also agree we probably could have brought in Emmet and Wagner through cheaper means but overall, happy with a slightly bolder approach to drafting compared to our normal "best available"
i have a philosophical objection to someone born in 2001 being described as mature age

I don't really have an opinion on him. I was as surprised as anyone. Just don't see him as a Schultz. Much more explosive and faster and much bigger.

Easy there grandpa. He wasn't even alive yet when the twin towers were attacked. I remember being in school for that, a couple of weeks after the moon landing and that lovely parade when the lads came back from WW2. It was quite a month.

It just feels like we reached with every single one of our picks so most here will feel deflated

Would have liked us to trade with Hawks like other clubs were doing as I reckon we still get our last 3 picks at the end of the draft anyway (maybe not Knobel but jeez we did not need him at all, Jackson and Darcy are set for 10 years...)

The fact we brought Emmet in ahead of our third pick where we took Knobel, means we didn't think Emmet would just float through to the rookie draft, or even the back end of the main draft.
I like Hugh and Knobel had been linked to us. Hugh Davies and Jed Adams were similar draft range. We obviously rated Hugh higher and I can see why plus he is a taller KPD.

I would have thought that we could have drafted Emmett at 57 and left Wagner for the Rookie draft.

33. Hugh Davies
41. Kaleb Smith
42. Max Knobel
57. Tom Emmett
Rookie: Wagner

I guess if WC don’t get in before us we will get a shot at either or both of Jed Hagan or Sam Gilbey in the rookie draft.

Keep one spot for SSP (the West has us linked to serong as SSP train on.

Considering Darcy is injury prone and the club seem to want to play Jackson forward, another ruckman is needed.
