Anyone else struggling to predict round 1? Usually each year i have some strong leans but not this year
I'm thinking carlton might actually win this year
I do like lions at home vs Port
Can we trust St Kilda vs Collingwood?
Also don't mind North against the hawks
the rest are hard to call

anyone else had a look at round 1?
GC were great odds at +23.5 but have come in quite a bit. I have them a fair chance of winning and very confident they bet the +23.5 line. WC will have a mountain of injuries and GC surely have a number of players hitting the 3 or 4 year breakout.

Seedsman and Laird are out and potentially Dawson. Freo clearly a better team and I think they cover the -3.5.

I liked Richmond -15.5 with Walsh out, but it looks like McKay and Docherty will be fine for round 1. Richmond picking up a few injuries themselves which is a concern - Lambert, Graham, Grimes. Last 5 games vs Carl margins have been +25, +24, +33, +28, +26. Not sure I would be hooking into the Blues off a terrible year and those past results.

Typically it's good to fade finals team as they have shorter preps. Only real situation here is Geelong +10.5. Menegola, Rohan, Duncan and Henry might not play and likely Stringer comes in.

Clark, Billings and Ryder to miss for the Saints. Not sure it's enough for me to jump on the Pies though.

When were the Suns $4?
i went on sportsbet about an hour after seeing that pic above on the afl tipping website and the odds were completely different to that screenshot. was worth about 800 not 1200 pissed me off lol

Good thoughts,

any further thoughts on lions v port?

I'm pretty confident on the lions but obviously port do have the squad to beat anyone on their day

Lions looked decent in pre season whereas port looked flat i know it was only pre season but i'm sure the lions will be very hungry to start the season off well infront of their home crowd

Saints will handle us, the line the smart play. 21-40 if you want to get cute
Yea really like the saints as well, however i have read that they have a few players out
I'm also bit worried backing against a side like collingwood, they still have a lot of decent players in that team, adams, grundy, sidebottom, de goey, elliot, howe, etc
But with a new coach i'd be surprised if they put 4 quarters together, it seemed in the practice games the pies were still learning the new style.

St kilda on the other hand , no real major changes to their team from last year, another year under ratten should get the job done here
their midfield does seem a bit light though crouch, steele, gresham, hill ? do they have anyone else?

BetRight have the line for the Totals for Melbourne v Bulldogs set earliest of all the betting companies I have seen.

Currently line set at 160.5 points

Brisbane vs Port the only game that doesn't really interest me from a betting perspective

Travis Boak was spending a lot of time forward late last season (14 scoring shots in the final 4 matches) and it looks like this will continue this year (2 goals in the AAMI match) with Butters to take a more central role in the midfield rotation. His odds also don't come with a 50% off 2021 price tag like every other player so that's good enough for me.

AGS @ $2.2 sb
2+ @ $8
3+ @ $35
4+ @ $201

yep like this

also like Oliver Henry for goals for pies, scored 3.0 vs GSW in a 50 point loss in pre season, remember watching him late last year and was decent up front

AGS 1.80 sb
2+ @ 5
3+ @ 18
4+ @ 91 (SGM POWERPLAYED)

Multi boak into henry

AGS both @ 3.60
2+ both @ 35
3+ both @ 622 (powerplayed)

also AGS multi i like

Boak/Henry/Dev Smith/Cam Rayner @ 11.46 (Powered SB)

As mentioned already, terrible odds for goal scorer on Dee vs Dogs. But I need to waste my money on something.

Looking at Neale-Bullen AGS: $2.60 (TAB)
Half forward role, had one or more scoring shots at goal in 15 games last season.
1.1 in the community game.
