Australia's final hit outs before the T20I world cup. Two matches vs the West Indies (5-7 October) and three matches vs England (9-14 October).
A 2-1 series loss in India doesn't bode well, especially when our best performed batsman isn't in the squad for the WC.

Lost an 8 over match and had a 2nd to last ball ending in the 3rd match. The Indian tour has left me more confident that we can win a few matching come the WC.

Australia squad for West Indies T20Is Aaron Finch, Sean Abbott, Pat Cummins, Tim David, Cameron Green, Josh Hazlewood, Josh Inglis, Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Daniel Sams, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, Marcus Stoinis, Matthew Wade, David Warner, Adam Zampa

I'm confused as to why we can't change the squad for the World Cup now if he wanted ?

Narine was a surprise omission but it was good of the selectors to finally move on from: Gayle, Dwayne Bravo, Darren Bravo
Agreed, surprised at no Russell though

and Pollard as well.

I think maybe those players numbers are gone and the selectors may have moved on from them. To be fair Pollard and Russell against the better attacks may have been found wanting. Both not the same as they were in their prime.

Pollard retired.

Russell left out as he doesn't play for the Windies majority of the time and hasn't performed of late.

Shame they didn't go with big Rakeem, think he is worth it as a back up for the opening bat position and can bowl some spin. I think fitness / fielding is why they won't pick him in International 20/20's though

Stoinis out.

"Allrounder Marcus Stoinis has been ruled out of the upcoming T20I series against West Indies as he continues his recovery from a side strain he suffered in early September, leaving Australia's selectors fewer chances to bed down their best side ahead of the World Cup.

think it will take a bit of an adjustment for England to win their 1st game over here, same too for West Indies.

England are coming from Paksitan where they were pretty much roads in Lahore and Karachi.

West Indies coming from Caribbean, half a world away. Alot of the players coming from a final in the CPL last Friday, wont be surprised if there is a bit of rustiness in their first game over here.

is it time to bite the bullet on him and just replace him in the squad with green ?

bit of a blow for West Indies. Hetmyer missed flight and has been dropped for the World Cup.

Brooks takes his spot.

He turns up 1 game in 5. Brooks has been better lately good form in the CPL

alot of people are writing off the West Indies here. Feel they have quite talented players sorted for this format . eg Holder, Powell, Joseph, Mayers.... losing Hetmyer is a bit of a blow but he was mainly a specialist batsman. They have talented all rounders that can change the game.

They are a better side without Pollard and Russell too.

Plus we are coming off a series where only Green could bat and he won't even play lol

Finch, Maxwell and Smith all striking at under 126 strike rate from 47 innings combined.

Those 3 players form are a bit of a concern.(past 12 months)

Its got to the stage you can only play 1 of those guys. But will Aussies selectors make that tough decision?

Maxwell at least has the X-factor where he could just explode. Finch and Smith even playing at their peak are they going to strike at 180-200? don't think so.

But i feel like Maxy might be on the chopping block.
