BoM still predicting 15-20mm of rain for Bathurst on Sunday.

Saturday is looking very ugly - 35-45mm predicted.

There wasn't a lot of rain here (Canberra) yesterday - constant drizzle until lunch time, then nothing.

We've already had one big shower go through this morning, and there's a lot more on the radar. Expect a lot of rain at Bathurst today and tomorrow.

Right now (11:42am Friday), there's a big shower headed towards the mountain.

They were always talking about two systems. The first went through on Wednesday afternoon/night. The second is due Friday & Saturday, with only the remnants remaining on Sunday. The worst of the second system is expected to fall further north, but Bathurst (and Canberra) will still cop a lot of rain.

I've lived in/around Penrith for 20 odd years...was only hoping he meant Bathurst as my bloody house keeps flooding everytime we get these heavy rains.

For practice sessions it's better to stop than keep the clock running and put out a safety car.
I definitely think they've gotten quicker to deploy SCs over the years. NASCAR is notorious for doing phantom SCs to rebunch the field and keep it close and they've probably taken a leaf out of that book
