Well worth the punt given none of our picks at 50+ are going to crack a game anyway in 2023, but if he's that talented I doubt he slides to the end.

Some arseh*le team like Geelong who can also afford to wait will pick him up and sit him for a year.
Can see only 4 clubs who could afford to take the gamble.
Dees(37),Pies(51),Us(53),Cats(58).

We have to draft 2 players, so would not be a good idea to trade our picks.

Also Brisbane can't trade their future second rounder without getting another future 2nd as they have already traded their future first round pick.
Elevate Miller & Pickett & utilise Pick 88.
That's the three list vacancies filled.

It's been refreshing having putrid token picks this year. Draft Care factor has been zero. First time I won't even listen or look til after it's over. Does anyone 100% understand our requirements this year? Can we use the picks on rookies like Pickett? Don't see any point investing 2 years and $200k+ on spuds not worth being selected? We're gonna need every single penny to extend Bolton & Balta soon.

Matthew Clarke said we will be using 2 picks in the National Draft. I assume the 3rd will be used to elevate Pickett.

Cheers. I figured we'd be doing bugger all when I noticed Talking Tigers was on last week as last episode of 2022 when they previously stated they'd do the usual one after the draft, so they obviously were told the draft won't even be worth talking about this year.

You never know, our pick should end up late 40’s after matches bids and brisbanes picks get demolished. There’s been some pretty decent key forwards taken between 50-76 in the last few years, a couple I’d love to have on our list actually.

I’d be over the moon if we do well. We also have Bauer and Ryan who could be options. We might pass on our second pick so we should try swap both for a high 40s pick

53 is going to end up being around 40 after Brisbane and Essendon burn through all their picks.
Think we will snag a good player.
Hadn't actually thought of it that way. Makes the trade not look so bad really going from potentially 31 up to only early 40's

Not going to be that low.

Brisbane have 34, 35, 36, 38, 55, 73
They might live trade pick 34 to Hawthorn for 48, 50, 52
North might want to trade up also for pick 35 with 40, 43

So bids on Ashcroft and Fletcher could eliminate (36, 38, 40, 43, 48, 50, 52), with a net gain of 5 places

Essendon have 54, 62, 68, 72 so none of these picks will boost pick 53.

GWS have 57, 61 which they may need to match a bid on Rowston.

Adelaide are likely to use picks 46, 56, 59 to match a bid on their father son.

Best case scenario would be picks 48 and 54

Agreed, but they will live pick hawks 48, 50, 52 & 65 for 36 and nth will trade 40 and 43 for 35. Bris won’t trade the 34 as it gives them extra points and the other clubs won’t care about 34 as it won’t be used anyway so their picks are effectively 34 and 35 anyway and puts them ahead of melb.

Where do you see Lemmy , Scully & Knobel being drafted ?
who would you rate the best KPF after pick #50
I don’t rate lemmey, kid has talent and that doesn’t go away but after the year he had and his off field issues I’m not sure I would bother, you could argue that at this late pick let’s see what we can help him with.
Scully is at least 4-5 years away due to body shape and size and attack on the ball.
Knobel is an ok ruck and a subpar fwd that would also be 4/5 yrs away.
Pheonix Foster would be the one, very athletic and held his own in the champs, great hands and has ruck work going well for him, followed by Olivier Northam (new Nank, enough said) then maybe a Jerome Lawrence (Hawks f/s possibility)
There isn’t much, wouldn’t surprise me to see Richmond pick a slider then maybe go for a kpp, or grab two sliders and rookie a KPP or invite them to train on in hopes of an ssp signing.

I’d almost guarantee there will be value with the two late picks we have.

Project talls do tend to slide down draft orders regularly.

I’m fairly certain the club will go a long term project ruckman with one of the two picks as they are pretty set on Sampson Ryan being more of a forward then a ruckman and outside of that there is not much. It will either be this draft or the pre-season draft that they will look at a young ruck.

They are not good picks but why the negativity ?

Might snag a bargain ala grimes. Broad.

I reckon we'll be targeting mature players from the state leagues. Try and snag the next Nathan Broad or Kane Lambert. Kids aren't any chance to play in our team over the next 2 years, so why waste a pick on a kid who we'll probably just delist at the end of 2024?

From limited reading I'd be very happy if we landed Foster.

In terms of KPD, which I also think is a need, who would be around the mark for us?
