Guess what before we landed the likes of Grimes Broad Baker Short with late picks in the draft we rarely if ever nailed defenders with late picks, but once our recruiting department improved greatly through being able to invest in it more, we started to find more of those late round gems, so there is no valid reason to not back our recruiters to be able to identify a servicable KPF with a late pick and that is all we need at this stage, is someone capable of playing second fiddle to Lynch for a few years before we either target a young proven KPF via trade/free agency or we target a KPF or 2 in the draft and look to restock the cupboard later on.
Think you'd be better off saying slim chance rather than no chance.Yes there is.
KPF require a lot of talent.
Gibcus has a chance, late draft picks no chance

Draft night always springs a few surprises.Neither of Phillips or Van Es would be available unfortunately…….you never know, but both are unlikely to be available in my, somewhat knowledgeable, draft thoughts.
If thats the case.Forget about drafting a KPF this year and target Treacy(Freo). You don't need someone worth writing home about. You just need to fill the hole.
Many teams have gone deep into finals without star key forwards in recent season.
No cap space despite Cotch & Jack retiring. We will draft 2 players through the draft and rookie draft to have a look at and see if they have the potential but in the mean time we will have Hopper & Taranto telling Harry Himmelberg how good life is at Punt Rd and he will be a free agent

From the outside looking in he looks the ideal KPF to play along side Lynch.
3yrs in the system by then.Way more advanced than a massive speculative kid at 50+.
Yep.If you are trading or getting a kpf in the future. Might as well aim for an A grade / Tom lynch type?
Taking a 1-2 KPF with our late picks this year is worth the gamble, sure it might not pay off, but given our successes with late picks over the last 5 or so years, I'm comfortable with us taking a stab at late draft KPFs and seeing what they've got.Too many people here are obsessed about finding a replacement for jack Riewoldt when he retires
whilst it would be nice to have another gun foward its not the end of our premiership hopes if we dont get on straight away
We have 2 kids in Bruer & Ryan that we can pin our hopes on and also Miller , Gibcus , Balta that can also do a job when required
When you have a great midfield and have players like Martin , Bolton , Lynch and even Cumberland in the foward line there is enough goal kicking power to kick a score.

Yep.
We should be targeting the next big dog when Lynch retires.
Rather spend 300k(Treacy) than 700k(Which we don't have) on someone like Hummingbird who hasn't shown anything near what he'd be demanding $ wise.
Cotchin , Riewoldt , Tarrant will all be gone end of 2023 and cap going up and only 1 year remaining on Dusty's contractNo cap space despite Cotch & Jack retiring.
Not to mention re signing Bolton.
Not on someone like hummingbird.Cotchin , Riewoldt , Tarrant will all be gone end of 2023 and cap going up and only 1 year remaining on Dusty's contract
Plenty of ca$h at Tigerland
The recruiting team has said it over and over.
Draft for talent, trade for needs
Showed a bit in the GF!Yep.

Zeus or Odin?!?I remember when we drafted Liam Baker and the melts on here (including me) about why the hell are we drafting another short ass sub 180cm small foward when we have 7 on the list already.
Thank god we did

Gibcus is a defender.
Like 21 of his other teammates.Showed a bit in the GF!
Great partner next too Lynch.Don’t understand how people can say this with confidence.
He’s tall, takes marks at its absolute peak, and is a booming kick.
Let’s see
Agreed. Tarrant is a defender. Balta is a defender. Miller is probably a defender. Gibcus is an unknown at this stage.Don’t understand how people can say this with confidence.
