Profiles from Inner Sanctum power rankings
Jefferson for me out of that lot.
We already have a keller type in Ryan

Ryan is more a ruck IMO. Seems to lack the agility to be a good ruck forward at AFL level.
Think they're both very similar imo.
Waste of list spot have 2 of those types.
So unless Ryan gets traded then i can't see us taking Keeler.

Ryan is all at sea when the ball hits the ground. He is similar to Soldo as a back up for Nank. Looks a better contested mark than Soldo and will probably overtake him as the second ruck next year.

Ruck / forward not a high priority as we are using Ben Miller in that role. But if there is a player available that has star quality at pick 19, would be a good selection. We can always move Ben Miller to the back line in the future.

Are you saying that because of the mail from Tiger71?

If Koschitze is any good than the Hawks will do everything they can to keep him. They have much more cap space than us.
Yes because of Tiger71 and the inference from the previous poster (whom I assume got it from the same source).

And personally I hope they do everything they can to keep him, both out of animus toward Hawthorn, and the fact the idea of him as a replacement for Jack is pretty underwhelming to say the least.

Being a hindsight hero. picking Garth ahead of Larkey/Mitch Lewis in 2016 and CCJ ahead of Oscar Allen in 2017 were costly.

Hasn't been any quality KPF available at our first selection since then. Was a good move getting Bauer in the MSD though.

Oscar Allen was the one that really hurt. It wasn't like he was a reach, there was lots of conversation about him and it wasn't like we weren't looking for a tall forward picking CCJ instead. Of course it's possible Balta might not have fallen to us if we had, but who knows.

There are no players surplus to our needs apart from about 10 players which they wouldn't take

We have been going to the draft since 2017 and wont be that bad if we miss for a year
Sometimes you got to give up something good to get something good. I would at least ask the question of GWS who'd they be interested in, who knows they could surprise us considering the intimate and personal knowledge their new coach has of our list. And similarly it won't be a disaster if we continue hitting the draft.

If we use pick 12 + 30 for Taranto, then pick 19 for Hopper.

I reckon we draft a pressure forward(Clarke and MRJ might have midfield roles in the future and Castagna and Aarts are close to being delisted), Tyler young from the VFL given we will lose Tarrant and Grimes in the next 1-2 years and then some other kid maybe a project tall to fulfill the minimum draft quota

Not too sure how many list spots we will have to be honest

Tarantino & Hopper coming
Stack & Pickett need to be upgraded

Lambert , Edwards , Caddy off the list we are still 1 more delisting short and most likely Martyn,RCD will need to be delisted to even take 1 pick

You forgot Parker
Surely Martyn and Aarts both get delisted

I imagine we will have to give 12 and 30 for Taranto and a future first for Hopper, leaving us 19 to try to nab a slider. We should also get a second rounder back. I reckon we will only take those two pics to the draft this year. Our list is looking pretty stacked so we will be after quality project player types, not quantity imo. The kid who has just done a knee might be right in our wheelhouse.

Mentioned it this time last year but Josh Treacy from Freo is a Vic lad and only 20, huge tank and a lovely kick, had an interrupted year with injury and illness but has shown plenty as a strong marking KPF. Would love to see us winkle him out of there next year.

Agree the list needs are KPF and inside mid.

Clubs have to take 3 in the National Draft, and I doubt we'll take any more than the bare minimum.

We have picks 12, 19, 30, then 84, 102 and 120 (Resource - 2022 Provisional AFL Draft Order - live based on current ladder!) I'd guess the club isn't planning on having pick 12 on draft night.

Plenty of solid inside mid prospects available in the second round. Have a look at the Vic Metro vs Vic Country game on 22 Sept for some candidates. I'd be surprised if one of McKenzie, Hollands, Hustwaite, Clarke or Szybkowski weren't available at 19.

Pretty rare to pick up an AFL level KPF outside the first round, but it does happen. IMO, this comes down to development more than drafting, so who knows.

Then a smokey. Knowing our recruiting team, possibly a mature age state league player.

just want keeler if we still have pick 19 and he happens to be there, even if he never plays an AFL game i just wanna watch the bloke run around for our vfl side, tag team ruck + fwd with samson ryan
