We've done alright at the bottom end of the draft.

[PLAYERCARD]Toby Nankervis[/PLAYERCARD] - traded for pick 46
[PLAYERCARD]Jack Graham[/PLAYERCARD] - pick 53
[PLAYERCARD]Nathan Broad[/PLAYERCARD] - pick 67
Jayden Sort - rookie draft
[PLAYERCARD]Liam Baker[/PLAYERCARD] - Rookie draft
[PLAYERCARD]Marlion Pickett[/PLAYERCARD] - mid season rookie draft

Mick Ablett(H/S) on the bongs

RICHMOND

Picks:
53, 63,

Mick Ablett says: With the additions of former Giants star midfielders [PLAYERCARD]Jacob Hopper[/PLAYERCARD] and

[PLAYERCARD]Tim Taranto[/PLAYERCARD], the Tigers are on their way to returning as genuine Premiership

contenders. Now there is simply a need for speed. While [PLAYERCARD]Shai Bolton[/PLAYERCARD] and Maurice Rioli tick these boxes, further outside leg speed would greatly assist. Could the Tigers find a mature

age recruit like [PLAYERCARD]Isaac Smith[/PLAYERCARD] was to give them the edge?

Draft Prediction: While the Tigers won’t get their chance until late in the piece,

there will still be talent on the board. Should a player like Swan Districts small forward Darcy

Jones slip through, he would be an ideal candidate. Jones won the agility test at the draft time in 7.70sec to show just how elusive he is. Powerful defender James Van Es is also a watch.

Really excited about pick #53 , Cant believe we managed to get that selection
You would think they will drop further once clubs start making bids on fathers/sons?

Pick #63 will come in about 5-7 spots but #53 will only come in 1-2 spots

there were no picks taken after 65 in 2021. So, they're all ours!!!

I don’t rate lemmey, kid has talent and that doesn’t go away but after the year he had and his off field issues I’m not sure I would bother, you could argue that at this late pick let’s see what we can help him with.
Scully is at least 4-5 years away due to body shape and size and attack on the ball.
Knobel is an ok ruck and a subpar fwd that would also be 4/5 yrs away.
Pheonix Foster would be the one, very athletic and held his own in the champs, great hands and has ruck work going well for him, followed by Olivier Northam (new Nank, enough said) then maybe a Jerome Lawrence (Hawks f/s possibility)
There isn’t much, wouldn’t surprise me to see Richmond pick a slider then maybe go for a kpp, or grab two sliders and rookie a KPP or invite them to train on in hopes of an ssp signing.

Foster looks good…solid mark…good kick…good height…solid enough to maintain mobility and physical strength

where in the draft do you expect Foster to be picked?

Depending on draft needs of certain clubs anywhere from 45 through to rookie

I hope we don’t go after foster. He’s big and out muscles kids in his age category but cumbersome and I think lacks the mobility to be a good forward. I at first thought he maybe an option, however, after watching championship games was disappointed with his performances. Very awkward looking.

Have you watched him in championship games? Ordinary.

hard to pick a superstar with a pick in the 50s

young talls are hot and cold…and take a few seasons to develop physically, mentally and with consistency

if the we pick him or not, I’m good

Most of the KPFs available at our late selection are unlikely to be any good. I just hope the view the club takes is best available, regardless of the position. A good onballer/winger is better than a dud desperate tall KPF pick.

I think thats going to have to be the case

If there is a KPF available that we rate sure we will select him but we wont just because of his size and position he has played as a junior
draft best available talent with #53 & #63 and fill some needs in the Rookie draft of filling a need

Unfortunately most posters here think it is absolutely necessary that we draft a KPF. This is regardless of the ability of the player. I think late in the draft there will be onballer types that will provide better value.

Toby Nankervis - traded for pick 46
Jack Graham - pick 53

Jayden Sort - rookie draft
Liam Baker - Rookie draft
Marlion Pickett - mid season rookie draft
Add Grimes into that mix too. He was completely overlooked in his draft and we took him in the PSD.

So officially we've got 4 picks but we've only got 33 senior listed, which would suggest that Pickett has been upgraded albeit there has been no official announcement. From what I can see the official announcement of Picketts upgrade won't be made public until 10pm next Tuesday night when the rookie upgrade period opens as well as a 3rd delisted free agent period and closes again at 11pm.

What a football story is Marlion Pickett.

Also just quietly what a player.

Seems to be one of those fine wine type players that just keeps getting better with age. Imagine if he'd had a Shane Edwards-like 15 year career.

You forgot the gangster of love at pick 51. Some people call him Maurice. 😁

Agree, don't go near a tall forward unless they have pace. So many gun U18 talls who go well at junior level due to the lack of tall backs generally but when they come up agains tall fast backs struggle because they can't get separation. Look at Boyd, Schache etc. and they were very high pics.

At least Bauer is pretty quick and really hits the ball hard in the air. Miller quick and a possibility. They don't have to be 198cm+. Plenty of good forward options around the 190-93cm mark, Membrey, Darling, Gunston.
