We a losing Jack ,Tarrant , maybe Grimes in 2023, and I'm not hopeful Biggie and Colina make it either we needed a few talls developing.

Balta is a better forward. And Chol would be eating into the taranto/hopper money.

You missed the whole point. Point was you need coverage for all positions. KPF we have a geriatric and another over 30 bloke with massive history of injuries. Add Tarrant, Hopper and Taranto that's 10 players brought in and zero coverage for the most vulnerable position. STUPID list management. Should've taken Scully bare minimum. We have 20 HBF FFS's!

Yep. Pretty much.

Even if we have zero belief in the 18 year old key fowards dreveloping at least take the best state league forward.

Hopefully we do something like that in the rookie draft. Give me a 21-25 year old key forward who can dominate the reserves and has some upside that can fill in for form, rest, injury (Jack)

Can anyone tell me the point of having a separate rookie list and rookie draft? Can they just merge that s**t into the main list?
Different contract lengths
Though you could easily fix this by making longer terms for early rounds (including more than 2 for 1st round) and then 1-year contracts if you're taken in the 4th round or later

And with the 70th pick of the draft.
Richmond select koksal baba, a 142cm damaging mid out of Romania

Yeah cause a skinny 18 year old is going to be the ******* answer.
They start as skinny 18 year olds... that's why you need to get them in.

They cost bucket loads getting them later for half their careers.

You don't balance your list through the draft. These kids are 3 years away from making a contribution in most cases, our list make up in three years will be a lot different to what it is now.

For all we know we had Smith no.30 on our list and someone like Scully at no.55, now if thats how you rate players how stupid would it be to take the guy you clearly don't rate anywhere near as high compared to the guy you do. One guy plays 200 AFL games, the other plays 10. Thats an extreme example but thats the thought process. Much better to get it wrong then to go against who you think is best.

Drafting 18yo talls a mugs game too. You spend 4 years developing the campaigner to get CCJ’d. Better to pick a surplus tall off someone else’s list in their early to mid 20’s, like Nank and Lynch.

If the club rated Scully they would have picked him....

No point picking a bloke just cos he's tall.

Reckon we'll draft a mature age kpf tomorrow in the rookie draft as emergency backup. Leave 1 spot open for ssp/msd and trade for a kpf next year......that or another hbf tomorrow

An 18 year old kpp isn't going to be of any use if jack and/or Tom go down next season anyway. We'd be better off playing small than throw a speculative late pick to the wolves before he's ready.

Mate Colina says hi.
Like colina?
Colina is a long term project player and unlikely to ever play a game. Thats why he was taken as a catB rookie not in the national draft. His salary is also not included in the cap. How many catB rookies have been a success? Blicavs and Soldo? Kieran Jack maybe?

Once again if the club thought there was a kpf worth taking they would have done so. Saying we shouldve taken Scully suggests that poster knows more than the half dozen expert recruiters we had in the room. A fantasy.
