Ticks every box for Essendon imo. Think he fixes more for them than Tsatas

Does he?

They already have Hobbs, Parrish and Shiel as midfield extractors. I think they really lack a point of difference.

Particularly a player who will run and carry out of the pack like Tsatas.

IMO he’s their man unless they go Humphrey.

The only gripe with that top 10
Is I think Jefferson is too high. The rest for me can happen quite easily.
The thing with Jefferson is according to the draft experts he’s the second best Key Forward behind Cadman who’ll almost certainly go to GWS. So if anyone else (other than possibly West Coast who’d take the WA prospect most likely) in the top 10 want to use their selection on a Key Forward then it is possible he could be taken earlier than expected.

I’d rather him (plus I think it’s more likely) go to Hawthorn.

That would really get the cats fans stirred up.
I want them to miss out on him out of spite.

Cadman is overrated at pick 1 but like a house is all about what the buyer is willing to pay and obviously GWS want him bad so 1 it is. Fair enough too, they see him as their main player and are worried he won’t get to them, so let’s make a deal. I guess we pick up the scraps with our picks. Even f ing Geelong get a pick in the top 10 fmd. You’d have thought that if someone told you that Grundy was being traded then you’d think ok 2 first round picks for an AA and dual BnF, one of the best rucks in the AFL. What do we walk away with? Pick 27, fmd. I understand about the TPP but is it possible to actually get something good for our players, same with Treloar and how we got screwed by the dogs and the lions and screwed ourself every time at the draft. We throw away a first round pick to GWS to get players who want to be traded or are just shite. Our last genuine good draft pick apart from F/S and academy was probably JDG and he has issues.

Sorry I went off on a tangent there, I’m just hoping they get it right this time. A skilled mid, a key forward and noble upgrade.

Not sure about drafting another Olli 😜 though Hawks getting Jhye Clark before Geelong (instead of any other club), would be great just to see the disappointment on their faces.

Pretty sure you can only nominate NGA/ Father-sons that you nominate for the combine, so Voulanos would be ineligible based off that
Ah, didn't realize that. Nevertheless, it feels if any of them would be likely be nominated it would be Ashwin anyway. He showed some nice things in the couple VFL games he did play.
If they like him, he probably likely to make it to the rookie draft? Then can use the Cat B on him.

But hard to know what the club is thinking in this case. They'll have to weigh up whether he can be AFL standard.

Lemmey has the same problems with competitiveness that Keeler has with the only difference Lemmey can't get near the footy because he's so slow and lumbering.

That seems to be the exact opposite of last year where he looked agile and did some especially nice work when the ball was at ground level.

I'm interested in what has happened to him this year and why he's slipped so far?

He had covid early on and a bit like Harrison, it probably affected him for a while. You lose weight and he then struggled with form. Wasn't his ideal year

I gained weight during covid.

Mine at least at this stage. (I almost had us bidding on Davey just for fun).

Not too dissimilar to this one that I just found as well (at least at the top)

I am curious... Can anyone think of any players who were predicted to go top 10 but were sliders but then went on to be a good player?

Wasn't Grundy predicted to go top ten but scared lots of recruiters off?

How big a slider? And any position?

I think Charlie Curnow was a bit of a slider, perhaps due to being perceived as tweener size.

Jack Riewoldt I don’t think was expected to last until #13.

I would consider Beams a bit of a slider getting to #30 given we were reported to be all over him as a top-10 prospect.

Naughton was a slider of sorts, he was thought of as top-4 but got leapfrogged by a few on account of his kicking.

Absolutely. Was predicted to go very early.

At least top 10 from memory, maybe even higher.

The reverse is also true though as well ie Cripps and Oliver.

Just bigger than all the other kids, not better.
