I went through the rules of NGA eligibility, and PMBangers was correct. You need to be invited to the national or state combine to be eligible in the NGA rules for said club.
Which makes only Yuyu Ashwin eligible if we want him.
I don't think we'll take Ashwin. He had highlights but not enough to warrant us selecting him.

Showed some nice things in the VFL games and in the nab league. Would be a free hit if we can get him on the rookie list.
I wouldn't be surprised if we do, or dont. Time will tell.

Dib showed more than Ashwin IMO and we didn’t grab him. I don’t think we will tbh

Just showed nobody has any idea what the club is thinking. I think everyone was shocked at that non nomination.
But maybe his height was an issue. Ashwin at least is afl standard for a wingman/forward. So it can go either way

Although at the start of the year, Cal Twomey said that Ashwin was the one that was quite rated that even he wasn't sure he would make it past the protected zone of 40.

We didn’t have a list spot available on the cat B list at the time though either. We have one freed up now, so on a one year contract completely outside the cap there’s no risk and no point not taking him if he’s not selected in the ND.

I’m sure this has already been discussed, but what is the likelihood of trading 25 & 27 for a higher pick?
Have to find a seller, which may be the more difficult thing.

As realistic as that may be, 25 and 27 have an equivalent value to pick 10.
But points wise wouldn't matter to most clubs, only if you needed the points.

How many selections are the Giants going to want to take?
Good question. They have a few list spots available? They may not use the later two selections. But have 5 selections under 40

Points don't matter unless the team needs points. It's not a great way to judge the value of picks.

No they don’t. They have the value of 25 and 27. Points are meaningless with GWS this year.

My point about ratings is why we shouldn't accept Pick 15.

We shouldn't just trade 25 and 27 to move into the first round. Those two picks are about the value of pick 10 and the difference between that and 15 is enough to warrant that we'd want something more in return. Points are important before deciding what to trade. I'd prefer us to wait until draft night and see who moves before trading.

Feels like that’s where the points system is flawed. I’d much rather pick 10 vs 25 & 27. Think they’re worth more like pick 15/16.
Would love a low teens pick for our two in the twenties, but doubt anyone would do it.
Ideal scenario would’ve been a 2023 first for those two, but again, doubt any clubs would’ve done that

Those two picks aren't the "value" of pick ten. An arbitrary points value attributed to picks for the sole purpose of matching bids doesn't determine their value. If I had picks 47, 48, 49, 50, 51, 52, 52 and 53 does that mean i have the value of pick 4? Points are literally meaningless out of the context of bid matching. The value is the pick, and how you rate it, nothing else.

Only teams look at Points are one with NGA/Father Son Prospects in that Draft
