All these clubs saying they would like to trade up... how is it going to be archived when they did not do when they had a chance in trade period. Maybe in draft when a specific player is gone or available .

Why is there a gap between the trade period an the draft ..seems like trades would have more chance if a full trade period was open till the draft?

That was the very first thought that crossed my mind, when I saw the HS phantom draft.

Very much looked like a pick that ticked a couple of boxes, both in terms of needs and retention.

There has been a long running discussion about Ginbey on the WC board, with some of those involved being ex recruiters, or having worked in the WA talent pathway previously.

This is a view expressed by some.

Still don't rate Ginbey.

He has come a long way this year but is still reactive around the ball and in particular stoppages and I don't rate his kicking. In a lot of ways he is a spectacular athlete who is a man playing against boys and not putting up numbers representative of that.

If he lasts which I doubt, surely we'd be jumping at the two late first rounders. Mind you if anyone can pick us you are more confident than anyone. We never take the one we are linked to.

Best available defender.

Just like Hawthorn will likely take the best available midfielder.

It's a discussion point every year in regards to BPA vs Needs Based. It's more complex than that though.

I'm still convinced that Hawthorn rated Ward and Gibcus equally last year. We just couldn't afford to pick another defender when our midfield desperately needed a top 10 quality talent so it factored into our decision making.

I remember an ITK on our board saying we were interested in Gibcus leading into the draft.

Blues haven't decided on pick 10 and have several options. Issue will be some good names will slip through to Pick 10. Keen on Phillipou but unlikely he gets there.

Have a deal for pick swap with Vic club if some picks fall a certain way. Will all happen on draft night. We are VERY keen for another Top 20 pick. Future pick on table

So many scenario's. Comment from recruiter is we have to have so many options ready. More than any other year
