If Clark isn't available then i would think they trade the pick also Mackie will want to get more into next years draft

Currently (if Geelong go B2B) then we would have pick 18 then pick 96

Personally hope we pass on clark (or another team picks him before us). Phillipou is my hope. Looks an absolute jet with a bit of mongrel.

He could conceivably be there at 9 or 10

I doubt it i think he goes 5/6/7. He wont get past the saints at 9 (given if hes still there its bc mackenzie has gone) imo. Sydney cant get that high imo.

Then don't go calling to the same player some year's down the track should we find ourselves in need of a KPP. Totally unnecessary claptrap if true.

For sure. Zero reason to tell a draft prospect we won't be taking him, unless he is a father/son prospect with some expectation.

Far out Sheezel is a ballsy pick!! If he doesn't turn into a mid what is his ceiling Luke Breust. Luke Bruest is a gun but you probably want to aim a little higher with pick three in the draft. At least I would want Geelong to.
Are you serious? Breust will go down as one of the great small forwards of all time. Sam Day Dom Tyson Lachie Plowman Jack billings Paddy Dow all say hello.

Rumour saints are very keen to move up in the first round. Not sure for who? Does anyone have any ideas of there plans because I got no bloody idea

Humphries is going to go pretty early, I think the Saints would need to trade up to get him if he’s the guy they want.

All these clubs saying they would like to trade up... how is it going to be archived when they did not do when they had a chance in trade period. Maybe in draft when a specific player is gone or available .

Why is there a gap between the trade period an the draft ..seems like trades would have more chance if a full trade period was open till the draft?

Saints had a fair crack at moving up with north, but they wanted our left testicle as well.

Clubs are conservative with these kind of things because they don’t need to jump up before the draft, when they have a clearer picture of who they want to take, what their rough pecking order is, and who they anticipate other clubs want to bring in.

I can see a few live trades going through because apart from the top end there are a lot of uncertainty and evenness in the next tier.

In our case, I think we’ll be waiting until our pick before potentially sliding back. If Wardlaw were available to us, I doubt we slide back. If not, the saints might get our pick.

FWIW i'm of the thinking the trade/draft points value scale can be thrown out the door when it comes to draft night.
This, more so when we are talking of clubs wishing to get into the picks of 3,4,5 and even top 7-8.
The clubs with the best hand ?
Probably the Giants with their Future 1st being a pretty highly sort after commodity.
Same could be said with the Eagles if one thinks they will not improve in 2023.
Other than that you have the Swans who have 14 & 17 to dangle maybe?
Gonna be a great draft night IMO.
