If there was an equivalent body to asada for governing trading (I.e the afl) the bowes trade would have kicked off a major investigation. Nothing against the cats the clubs must maximise returns within the rules they did a great job, but for the suns to throw away a first rounder totally unnecessarily (they should have withdrawn pick 7 once the salary smoothing was allowed as it was no longer a salary dump) and then trade one back in would be the dumbest thing in the history of the game. And that’s a big statement we still have the ruck nomination rule, Jason Castagna has 3 flags…

I think we need some KPP's. We have a number of third type talls but are light on for genuine KPP's. We really only have Weitering, Young & S.Durdin. Up forward we have only McKay & Curnow. A few injuries and we will be in trouble

I have no idea what we will do but he & Busslinger must be options. If they get another pick inside 30, they may go with a tall like Hayes or Keeler with that later pick? Three picks inside 30 could land us something like Hewett, Hotton & Keeler which covers a lot of bases. Who knows but will be interesting to watch

There would have been heaps of options. Pick 7 and a late 2nd/early 3rd for Sydney Swans two teen picks and then giving one of those to Geelong with Bowes. Offering F1 as a carrot along with Bowes. I could go all day.

They just threw away pick 7 and if they now want another top 15 pick that in retrospect is plain stupidity.

Swans dont want to trade their future 1st even if it means moving up. The swans don't rate this years draft.

It's not that we don't rate it, we'd only move up for a very specific target, think it was Humpries but that was ruled out early. There's not much between the rest. I won't be shocked if we try and flip one to next year's or trade down actually (with the right deal). It goes against my thoughts though rather take a couple of smalls and be done. I trust Darymple who doesn't miss usually with first rounders.
