There's a clear cut top 5, period. Ignore the outside noise. They'd be lucky to get that F3. There is absolutely no way we do that trade and we'd be stupid to do so.

They're buying up to a top 5 pick. Half the reason we'd do the deal is to allow us more flexibility in trading pick 22 with our F2 up to a team in that 14-20 range (Melbourne, Sydney x2, GWS x3, Collingwood).

And only 1 will likely be available at pick 4. And he’s probably got more questions about where he fits at AFL level, than most of the guys in the 6 to 14 range.

That's because everyone sees him as the weakest of the top 5 and are looking for reasons to justify that.

If St. Kilda want to trade up, they need to give us a good deal. Not the other way around.

He is top 5. 99% of the followers say that he is. Not the idiots who fix onto a flaw and just focus on that.

We were keen to trade up to pick 3 during the trade period with the assumption we were trying to gain access to Sheezel (since De Goey deal fell over). I think if we were going to trade up it might be for Bailey Humphrey rather than Tsatas, who may be the big slider on draft night. Saying that, I reckon you guys will keep your pick & select Humphrey.

Said player goes in the expected range anyway. Last year it was Ward. Year before it was Phillips. 2019 was Hayden Young.

I think it’s because several clubs are strongly linked to others rather than trying to avoid picking Tsatas for any perceived flaws.

I guess he more means that someone like Allan (for example) is more likely to push into the top 10 and every else gets pushed down a pick.
Rather than someone like Mackenzie slipping to 15. A bolter doesn't necessarily mean there's a slider

Yeah, fair enough. That's true. But even someone expected to go top 10 who slides 3 or 4 spots into 12-14 tends to get called a "slider".

Humphrey is probably the only one you mentioned that I would rule out making it to 10

The draft is so even from 5 on that any of those other guys could make it to 10. I don't see a huge difference in quality between Tsatas/Phillipou and McKenzie. Plenty of watchers have McKenzie ahead of Phillipou so I'd be more than happy to hold firm.

It would be a totally different story if we were moving up one higher and giving us the chance at Wardlow/Sheezel

I think there is close to zero chance Tsatas makes it to 10. For mine Mackensie is a talent but doesn't seem that impressive next to Steele and Crouch who still have many good years ahead of them. Add in Windhager who looked great late and you kinda need a point difference to not repeat the samish list build you've recently had. I've got Phillipou making it but they others well gone.

Personally wouldn't do it as Saints as I think you'll struggle next year if injuries hit a few keys. But in for the long haul rebuild doesn't really seem like Lyon's brand.

Windhager is nothing like Steele and Crouch. His explosiveness brings a point of difference to the midfield and next to Owens and Mackenzie we'd have a pretty good mix of young mids.
