I think Geelong should consider it if true. Especially if Clark is off the board. Could be a top 5 pick in a strong draft.

Nah while a top end pick next year is tempting i doubt adel offer it and if we did trade it would be for a late r1/early 2 this year and a future 1st, not to trade out of this year entirely.

So Dodo is trading the pick?? Suicide if you want Phillipou. Surely we'd nail him at 7.

5-10 is very even. Especially as the better fit players for ess will be available at 10 - Phillipou or Humphrey.

Still with it being even how much value would they get to trade back? A future 2nd?

Depends who trades for it. Gold Coast won't need to, Hawks maybe their F2. Doubt Geelong will trade up, same with WC. Anyone else and their F1 will need to be part of it.

Doubt anyone in the top ten are gonna do it.

I think it should but I guarantee he has a skinny 180cm mid in mind or an outside player who hates contact in mind

I can see him thinking he's a genius getting a top 5 pick at 12

Only way I would do if it guaranteed us Davey x 2 Munkara and a big bodied mid or KPF

I get the general impression with Dodoro that he thinks every move he makes is a masterstroke.

It's not an impression it's correct

Yeh nah I’d say the crows would’ve preferred to give their f1 and keep pick 5. Crows should be winning 10-12 games next year
If the draft is as good as everyone is saying next year the bombers should look at it, think even crows fans would be surprised if they won 10 games next year

Not a chance essendon will trade pick 4 for a f1 😂
That would be a horrendously dumb trade.
I’d say the only guarantee is that both north and hawthorn will be bottom 4 ( no one is getting their picks), any other of the bottom 10 teams this year are every chance of making a run at the finals next year. You just have to look at collingwood this year and essendon last year how a side can go on a run with an easier draw.
It’s not about the talent available next year, it’s that you’re taking a huge risk on where the team will finish, and trading away a top 5-6 pick when there’s no gurantee that the team will be right down the bottom next season. The top end of this draft are still very good talents. You really have to wait till June/ July next year to find out is it just another good draft crop or are you looking at a 2018/2001 super draft sort of year, too big of risk to take on asset of a top 5 pick imo.

JOM is one of the biggest what could have been stories of the 21st century.

Best first year player I've seen along with Judd and Daicos.

I really hope Tsatas does fall to us and hearing it may be a possibility. Has the speed and power to be the player JOM could have been. If he develops his contested side watch out.
Selfish player who offers nothing defensively. Maybe Mitchell could sort that out though.

Don’t think you can compare the crows to Collingwood, it was mostly Collingwoods older players that got them back up the ladder this year.

Most clubs have commented already on how good next years draft is. The last thing the bombers need is another small midfielder. They might wait 12 months to see what happens. I have no doubt that crows pick would be top 10.

I never said they should do it but it’s definitely worth looking at

I would expect a bit of a bidding war on such a pick next year.

Brisbane would probably happily throw a future future first, plus extras at GC for a first round pick in next year’s draft.
So
In the current scenario: we select a player ?humphrey that could have immediate impact in a team wanting/needing to push for finals ASAP

In your scenario we instead have a 2024 first round pick(probably a back-end) one. Plus a few extra lower picks.

Humphrey could have played 60+ AFL games and been in the system for 3-4 years before anyone picked in this scenario is ready for AFL.

In our position (ie needing to have some success to have a chance of keeping king, anderson, hollands etc..) I’d rather our assets on the park, not bundled into drafts one then 2 years away.

Just saw Brisbane has included Casey Voss in their father and son nominations, rate him.and Bailey Rogers as the best players outside the AFL.so would top off their off-season if they selected him

More media 'chest beating' from Dodoro, he does it every year. Id suggest Essendon have no intention of moving back in the draft. Perhaps its the only way he deceives the club into believing he is relevant.

I notice he is another mid life male dying his hair. As if hair dye is going to help his appearance or reputation.

Apart from the fact that it was Mahoney who supplied the quotes. The same Mahoney who had a history of doing this at Melbourne.

We'll do it if it's a good deal for us. Simple as that.

So would you give up your F1 to move up 6 spots this year?

Yep defensively quite poor. Would be going #1 if he had the defensive side such is his offensive output. Long way to go to becoming a complete midfielder.
