We’re rumoured to like Casey Voss late if he’s available
No we’re not.

I mean, it could be a rumour, but it’s more b.s. than rumour.

Where would young Voss fit in, taking in to account we are adding McKenna to an already extensive list of small defenders.

Funnily enough I was pretty certain that the AFL automatically removes the picks for rookie upgrades based off previous examinations a few years back.

However going back to last year's, as of at least 2021 the AFL does not remove picks used for rookie upgrades.

Case study: Carlton had 25, 63, 78 in the final order, used 27 (formerly 25) in the draft, and 63 and 78 got disappeared in the process with Carlton taking Honey and Kennedy as promoted rookies. Similarly Melbourne had four live picks, used three in the draft plus James Jordon as a promoted rookie.

Not sure what that means for Geelong this year only having two picks?
I think it depends on how many senior list spots, and how many total list spots a club has available.

I thought like you about Carlton having those 3 draft picks available last year, however we had delisted O'Brien and Cottrell to take in the rookie draft, so it was those 2 availabilities that gave us our 2nd and 3rd ND picks, not the 2 rookie upgrades (Kennedy and Honey).

If we were going to go to 38 senior 4 rookie, and just upgrade 2 rookies without shifting the other 2 back, we would have only had the 1 pick available.

One difference is you (depending on the status of the rookie, some must be elevated) don't have to announce a rookie upgrade until the draft is finished, so you could hold the extra pick open for the draft, and then pass on the pick and upgrade your rookie after. There is a 1 hour window after the ND is completed to do this.

They would if they suspect he will request a trade back to Geelong in a few years time.
except he isn't from Geelong. Just was zoned to the falcons because of his location. I don't think he is imbedded to Geelong like some boys have been.

That hasn’t stopped these blokes wanting trades we had Oliver Henry having a waa waa he was a grand total of 45mins away from home!

They will have two top 25 picks (minimum) next year. They don’t have a lot of good insides bar Duke as well. Best available should be the plan whoever that is
Tsatas will likely be the best available anyway, on the draft boards I've seen at least.

Maybe although I’d lean to taking the inside one first. It’s not as if the Hawks won’t have picks next year to address the class. Without the grunt the class is useless

We are elevating close and atkins.

I still think Allan's the most Geelong player of all time and there's more than enough smoke to say they're keen. You tell Chris Scott he can have a 2nd version of Blicavs - size, speed, endurance - he'll say where can I sign.

And the second most Chris Scott Geelong player of all time would be the Selwood clone local kid. McKenzie might be 3rd - skilled, balanced, versatile, well rounded.

If the Cats are leaking Tsatas that could easily be a smokescreen to do all they can to influence the Hawks, or possibly tempt the Saints or Blues to throw them a bonus pick to slide back knowing the Eagles will take Ginbey so they lose little or nothing.
