He'd weirdly suit your side if you traded down but surely this is a stone cold moral take Phillipou
Given we just delisted to KPD surely we wouldn't take one

Thought I heard Cal Twomey say Ed Allan isn't invited to night 1 of the draft. Can we safely now assume he isn't going to be taken in the first 10 selections who the afl like to parade on stage.
I think the AFL only wants to invite roll gold, dead certainties now to avoid the awks like Johnson & Robertson.

I still think Allan's the most Geelong player of all time and there's more than enough smoke to say they're keen. You tell Chris Scott he can have a 2nd version of Blicavs - size, speed, endurance - he'll say where can I sign.

And the second most Chris Scott Geelong player of all time would be the Selwood clone local kid. McKenzie might be 3rd - skilled, balanced, versatile, well rounded.

If the Cats are leaking Tsatas that could easily be a smokescreen to do all they can to influence the Hawks, or possibly tempt the Saints or Blues to throw them a bonus pick to slide back knowing the Eagles will take Ginbey so they lose little or nothing.

I dont mind clark but hes a very similar player to knevitt who we drafted last year and im not a fan of the go home factor with allan.

I think clark and mckenzie are definitely the safe picks unless we go busslinger.

I agree with you re tsatas geelong doesnt tend to traditionally draft players with poor defensive games...i dont think we will take him but we might pretend we will if hes there at our pick to see if a st kilda/carl/melb etc (i dont think wce will take tsatas and wb probably wont) will trade up and we can slide back a couple of picks and get a player we want (clark wont get to 10 but one of ginbey/mckenzie/busslinger/hollands etc probably will) anyway and bank currency for next year.
That said its probably more likely we just take clark at 7.

John doe thinks cats have Tsatas ahead of Clark

Eagles id say wouldnt go him like you said. I think dogs will take him pretty quickly though and hes not getting past both saints and blues anyway

Clark is nothing like Knevitt.

Sorry that was a typo i meant allan is like knevitt..both 193odd cm utilities who are good athletically and can play across all three lines but physically need to put on some more kgs etc.

Oh fair enough. I'm still not convinced Knevitt will make it.

Johns just some kid account.
I can see us taking mckenzie ahead of clark but im not sure we would place tsatas ahead. But i think we might pretend we will take tsatas to see if another vic club will trade overs for us for 7 (assuming phillipou humphrey and mckenzie/ginbey go 4-6).
Would dogs take tsatas? I know hes good value at 11 but gee they have so many mids..i would have though busslinger would be a better fit for them

Ian Hill is a winger/high half forward from U18s who is played as a small forward at AFL level because of his size. Similar story to Zac Fisher who played inside mid at U18s and is a small forward/high half forward/wing option at AFL level. Same as Liam Henry too.

If your coach has a policy of putting players in more natural positions then on the wing Hill would go and he'd look like he has a lot of energy and creativity.

We have no true wingers, especially now that Hunter is gone, so it would definitely be a need.

Also our inside midfield is pretty flat footed and vanilla. Became very turnover prone the season just gone as well. Dogs could do with a legit burst mid that can kick goals and hit targets inside 50, one that actually hurts teams besides Bont. Need to replace the defensive work rates/tackling ability of Dunkley too. May be deep in mids, but doesn't mean we have the types and quality covered. I think Dogs will pounce on Ttsatas if he did slide. Unless Blues went with him over Hollands. In that case we will probably take Hollands.

Dogs need defenders, but probably more a lock down type. Darcy, Keath, Jones, Gardner, one of Bruce or Naughton will drop back. Thats five tall players that can play an intercept role. So unless Busslinger is seen as long term replacement project, Dogs may not see his type as an immediate need. Will have a bit of competition for his type of role. Weddle, Michalanney, Ryan, Van E's probably more the type we need.

Dalrymple – who formerly worked for the Western Bulldogs – confirmed the Swans had strong interest in Victorian key defender Josh Weddle and South Australian ruckman Harry Barnett if they retain picks 14 and 17.

Would prefer not personally because at 192cm he doesn't really bring anything to the side we can't get with both McCartin's. He isn't big enough to take on the really tall key forwards that Sydney sometimes struggle with.
