A ball-winner with great speed and endurance, Drury has played as a midfielder for Oakleigh Chargers in the NAB League this year. However, he has predominantly been used as a high half-forward with Vic Metro, which is seen as the role he would play at the next level. He has good footy smarts, explosive breakaway speed away from the contest and generally finds a target with his kicking inside-50. When playing forward, Drury is a dangerous match-up given his evasiveness and knack of using his running ability to find space and separation on his opponent. Drury booted two goals among 12 score involvements from 21 disposals against South Australia in Vic Metro’s third game of the national championships, displaying the scoreboard damage he can do. Drury’s continued development this season has come after he starred for Vic Metro at under-17s level last year.

This kid needs a pic, half his appeal is he's a nuggety little ginger bull. He looks like the sort of kid that would steal your BMX and you'd be too scared to get it back off him despite him being half your height.

He reminds me a bit of Bowey in pace and size though.

Think he looks a bit more proper mid/forward than some. Looks quite good when he goes on ball but definitely more dangerous around goal.

He can play but we’ve been burnt before taking players who aren’t quite what we need. I see genuine quality mids at our pick so it’s a no from me and if we had two picks I’d take two mids McKenzie and humphrey.

Without checking back (cos I can’t be bothered) I’m sure that is a common theme amongst posters leading up to every draft.

Still doesn’t stop many on here moaning we didn’t take Aaron Naughton, who despite his current role in the forward line, was being sold in the 2017 draft showroom as a backman.

I admit I wasn't too keen on taking Naughton, but wish we had now.

I've got no doubt he'd be one of the best backs in the comp if they kept him there and it may well happen with the kids they have coming through.

Some very good key defender prospects taken in the first round of late including Gibcus, Granger-Baras, DeKoning

McCasey really the only flop in amongst them.

I remember him as an incredible mark who couldn’t kick, might still be his Achilles heal under pressure in defence.

Big Busslinger looks like a very neat kick which is half the reason I'm keen on him.

If we are pretty much delisting Bytel and looking at Bruhn I doubt we can fit a pure mid, especially if De Goey comes. Humphrey and Sheezel types are at least adaptable. Billings and others were a **** up because we wanted them to carry our midfield with no-one to shield them on top of being built like a coat hanger.

Where has the Bruhn talk come from. Have heard nothing at all, and would cost plenty.

not your fault on that one. just didnt get alot of access to WA games back then.

he was amazing though. the real loser was freo. they had haselby and a bunch of other ex freo players go live on 6PR begging freo to take him.

his mentor at Peel, ended up getting axed too. went to GC and is a very very good player. his mentor was another docker cut too early too.

Ideally he makes it as an outside mid but i think he has a spot as a future winger with his good speed, and worst case, he plays back.

Currently ranked 15 at draft central.

You are thinking half back flanker and rightly so but i didn't see that from watching him play. His ability to break lines, compete and use the ball could see a potential Bont clone!

Looking forward to the final Vic Country - Metro game in September. Will determine his fate.
