IDK why but I think he slides. Something about him reminds me of guys who go late and then struggle to find a good role at AFL level.

His size is an issue but hasn't held Bowey back. He just looks a good little player. Those little blokes often do slide. I think you could get him with a late 20s pick or something.

Is Humphrey still your go to mid this draft?
He looks the goods .....

Yeah at the moment. I'm not as invested as I used to be though. He looks a bit like he could be a bit of something different in a pretty Sama same pool. Phillipou looks good and so does Sheezel but neither will be there at our pick.

Elijah Hewett looks pretty insane to me. He just has time, skill and space and moves like a cat.I'd think he's the type who could be the best in his draft type but not as safe as some. If we lost Nas for picks and replaced him with Elijah I'd not be unhappy.

Humphrey.

Shirty.

But this is Big Footy so it can only be…

…Fappy!

I agree with Gringo re Elijah Hewett. He is a leader, two sided and a great kick plus his 20 metre handballs are absolute bullets and very creative. He sets his team mates up with every possession.

Apparently the slight knock on him over the championships was his consistency. He is a Perth boy but if he is available at our pick #10 Id be very happy to grab him.

If we happen to get pick 19 for Hill I’d love for us to have a serious look at Weddle, looks a good prospect only knock is he is listed as 192, but compared to other KPD isn’t all that undersized.

This draft could be as important as last years in my eyes

Just makes you happy watching him play. He's got a style that I love, he's quick, has the candy seller side-step, hits team mates with every touch and plays front-foot footy. He's probably my favourite player in the front of the draft but after NWM I'm a bit cautious of the go home factor and as you said his consistency is a bit up and down. To me he has some of the bits that make guys like Shai Bolton great to watch. Just a heap of the pretty mercurial stuff in his game. Maybe even some Nicky Winmar in there.

McKenzie seems to have slid a little in rankings as the season has gone on with Tsatas and Wardlaw coming back, looks like we might be a genuine chance at our pick for him if we want him.

Those two guys have remained high throughout the year

Humphrey is the big bolter. He wasn't even in his 25 last month and now sits at 7.

Cadman and Gibney are the other two that have gone past him in his rankings.

Should be a good player there at 10. I think this draft runs slightly deeper in terms of that top tier

Ginbey seems to be moving up. He looks ready to go from day one. He's got a massive frame to build on.

Isaac Keeler looks like a good replacement for Paddy Ryder. Looks like the junior version.

With Port having the pick before us and Matteaes Phillipou being a Port supporter from Adelaide. I think they would jump at taking Phillipou, hopefully leaving McKenzie to us.

If we can get Norths priority pick for Hill, we could use that on a KPP player like Lewis Hayes or Isaac Keeler. Happy days!

If i was a North supporter i'd be pissed if we gave up a priority pick for Hill.
If i was the AFL, i'd seriously consider introducing a rule where , if we give you a priority pick you must use it in the draft.

Mind you, the AFL were happy enough to undermine their own system when they introduced GWS.
Melbourne's priority pick 2009 was Tom Scully.
The AFL decided it was OK for Scully to go to GWS, they got compensation , but they couldn't use it until the following year which effectively delayed the Melbourne rebuild by 3 years.
They then traded both compensation picks for the "mini draft " pick for Jessie Hogan. But Hogan couldn't play until 2014.
Due to injury he didn't play in 2014.

So , because Melbourne were really crappy in 2009, they got a young FF to use in 2015.
Sorry AFL , that system sucks and blows at the same time.

Isn't the idea that they want rebuilds to take less time?

I think in a lot of suggestions, this involves making it a rule that the draft pick has to be used to bring in established players...

If you give a club a draft pick, it's still going to take at least a few years before they contribute to a winning team.

Happy with Mackenzie, Hewett or Humphery... all look genuine mids and all look to have something about them, whichever gets through to us, and I think one will.
But, if we have NM's combo pick at the end of the first (hope we do), id be all over Lewis Hayes. Has a taller bro so I dont think he's done growing, good intercepter, High disposal count in some games and if he gets to 199cm and bulks up... should do the job there or, at our 2nd pick.
