Isn't the idea that they want rebuilds to take less time?
I think in a lot of suggestions, this involves making it a rule that the draft pick has to be used to bring in established players...
If you give a club a draft pick, it's still going to take at least a few years before they contribute to a winning team.
The intention is to help them in the short term, not the long term. North winning 2 games a season is a terrible look for the AFL and this is what they want to rectify ASAP. It's also a bit more palatable for the other other clubs who may feel that North are being rewarded for their own poor list managementA first round draft pick can last you well over a decade ( just ask J Selwood ).
Brad Hill would struggle to be still playing when North are challenginig.
Averaging 14 possessions. Pass. Here's a cheat sheet for the SA recruitment drive. Another Jack from SA perhaps?

How about Jackson Callow from the Hawks as a late pick/rookie.
22 yo 194 cm, 95 kg forward. Big strong player great hands, lack of mobility may be the issue but may be the type of player that might fit in nicely alongside King.

I feel that taking cast offs from clubs that finished below us is not a smart way to improve. He's only just turned 20
I was keen on him in his draft year. Worth a shot for nothing, depending on who we take in the draft
We don't have to take him in the draft, can just grab him as a DFA I'm pretty sure

I wouldn't get too caught up up about which club they've been delisted from. Hawks have got a few young key forwards coming through and he was only given a go in the MSDI feel that taking cast offs from clubs that finished below us is not a smart way to improve.
I also feel that the Hawks have a better system and clear understanding of where they're at and where they want to go, and if they've decided these boys are not gonna help then we needn't bother trying to outsmart them (ourselves).
He had a couple of decent games in the VFL but was much better in the SANFL earlier in the year.We were ken on here at the time but haven't heard much of how he's tracking. I think he was a bit of a Membrey.

There may well be better prospects coming up in the draft but I wouldn't be surprised to see Callow land at another club looking for a bit of depth in the key forward stocks.
He's a big strong lad with a good set of hands. He was very impressive in the SANFL.

He's a fair bit bigger than Membrey (195cm and 96kg)
I think agility is his big knock. He's a very old school key forward.I thought that was the knock on him but couldn't remember. I thought he was a third tall sized KPF but that sounds plenty tall enough. He was the one we seemed to overwhelmingly want on here was all I remember.

As a defender though.I think Knightmare had the hots for him.

A "194cm old fashioned key forward" who "lacks agility" but who "could become a future star in defence if life as a forward doesn't work out for him"?Right you are! So i did a google search and it makes good reading...
"Callow is an interesting case having dominated in the NAB League representing Tasmania in 2019 as a key forward, before shifting into defence in the TSL last year, where he dominated, only to return to play forward again this year. There is a Brian Lake vibe to Callow's game as someone who isn't the most athletic or agile but is so special one-on-one that he turns a one-on-one contest routinely into a mark. With his combination of attributes, while Callow looks great as a key forward, he's every bit as appealing as a key defender and could become a future star in defence if life as a forward doesn't work out for him."
I really want him now. 12 month rookie contract. Lets go!
Lewis Melican, 194cm-100kg KPD from the Swans, may be that gorilla we need? And wouldn't cost much, & not alot of options out there. Would love Brennan Cox from Freeo, but you wonder why he would leave. Jackson Callow seems like a cheap option too.
Yeah, he is gonna be good at the hawks next yearI tell you what Cam Mackenzie something great. Exactly like Noah Anderson imo. Such a good size and atglete
Is it really Easter until we see Hot Cross Buns?Melican would be decent depth. He's probably not going to set the world on fire but he's a very solid citizen pushed out by the McCartin. Sort of some karma there.
