Jesus… Twomey can’t even slightly keep his Injectors fandom under control anymore, ay…

When are the actual picks? I don’t want to listen to this drivel.

Saints = pass

It would appear they have other plans for the extra list spot other than Stocker.

What a difference a couple of solid drafts makes…

The current U23s;

B: Connolly - Van Es - Coffield*
HB: Clark* - Adams - Sharman
C: Wang.-Mil. - Owens - Byrnes
HF: Hotton - Allison - Phillipou
F: Peris - King - Keeler
Foll: Heath - Bytel - Windhager

*Coffield and Clark being the next two youngest.

Sure, they’re mostly unproven, and there’s a few that seem a fair way off it so far, but geez there’s some cause for optimism in 2021/22 draft crops…
So… after all the waiting, we pass, so it’s just McLennan…

Yep.

I fully expect us to go with Stocker early in the new year and then leave a spot open for the mid season draft, possibly to grab a mature ruck option if RoMa or Campbell go down and we are pushing into finals.

Top shelf off season for the club.

Have overhauled the coaches, the support staff, the development program and (on paper) have nailed the list management and drafting.

Would have loved to see what Benny Long could do under Ross Lyon but will wear that loss given he's getting paid well at the Suns and we snagged Olli Hotton with the pick.

What a huge contrast from just a few weeks ago when I legitimately felt at the absolute rock bottom in my support and enjoyment for the club.

Incredible what a bit of professionalism can do!

Couldn't agree more.

By the end of last season, I couldn't bring myself to watch our matches I was so emotionally exhausted from it all. Now I am gobbling up every photo, video, interview that is posted.

This is like the 6th reply being mildly defensive about a throwaway line about big games.

We don’t have Anzac Day, Easter Monday, Queens BDay, Season opener etc etc. That’s all.

Yes we have a diehard loyal supporter base, yes when we were rolling 10 years ago Friday/Saturday nights at colonial were “the s**t” but if a draftee is saying they were built for the big stage and big games in Melbourne you’ll forgive me and every other afl supporter if we don’t immediately think St.Kilda over Collingwood, Richmond, Carlton at the G with 80k.
You have an entirely valid point ... fact is, we need to be regularly pulling 40K+ into Marvel to justify getting more games at the 'G ... been a while since we did that with any consistency.

More than anything, we've got to have a program which gives us half a chance, otherwise we might as well consider ourselves as the feeder club for the big Melbourne clubs because everyone worth a damn is going to bugger off at the first opportunity.

When we win games/have successful seasons, we generally get good crowds as a rule of thumb.

Now invite, Sydney Stack to pre-season training, along with Stocker & we're set.

The AFL really need to rethink the rookie draft, most clubs are just using it to shuffle financials around from core to "well, we might as well as we've invested, but so help us...". if the AFL really want a refresh or change in how clubs operate, list sizes and money in that sector, roll the rookie into the ND as an actual speculative shot, so say rounds 1-4 for ND, the junk pick 76 pass session completion for the rookie draft of "left overs" for punting, expand PSD to include the financial "I'm moving Chad from core to secondary list to pay him less" to there instead of clogging up rookie selections for it.

So long as you don't then go above the main list size, condense it and shift where things are done.

Jumper no.s

2. James Van Es
10. Mattaes Phillipou
21. Ollie Hotton
25. Isaac Keeler
31. Zaine Cordy
39. Angus McLennan

Mattaes seem quite unhappy about the No 10.

18 to Keeler passed to him from Paddy would be a nice treat for Keeler.

I wonder if any of our existing players would like a lower number.

Jumper no.s

31. James Van Es -real key defender's number
2. Mattaes Phillipou - as per request; let him grow into it
21. Ollie Hotton - seems a very nondescript Carlton player kind of number
18. Isaac Keeler - jumper handover by Paddy
25. Zaine Cordy - famous Bulldog Barry Hall's Saints number
39. Angus McLennan - rookie number for the bastard son of Angus Young, Paul McCartney, and John Lennon
10. Permanently boxed

My vote

Whatever number they get, let's do the announcements nice and early this time, not the ridiculously late half-arsed way we did it this year

All very true and I am very confident that we can triple our premiership tally in our next 150 years
