Has anyone tracked how many main and rookie list spots we have assuming Bytel and Leinert don’t/aren’t resigned? Can’t see us taking more the 3 in this draft.

I think unless we trade up in the draft we definitely take 4

Especially considering pick 47 will move up the draft once Ashcroft is taken

That's a horrible trade for us in my opinion. The Quality of the Draft seems to be top 10-12 players and even from 4 onwards. Not gaining much at Pick 4.

If we struggle next year (likely) in a strong Draft (likely) with no First Round pick, we're in big trouble.

Also with the Bing possibility, hold onto our future 1st.

Agree. Take 9 but hopefully we can do something with the later picks or even trade a Future in.

Of the early phantom's i've seen , they all have the same top 5 ( in different orders ).
There are 6 tipped to go between pick 6 and pick 9. Humphrey , Clark, Phillipou, Ginbey, Mackenzie, and Busslinger.
If it somehow ended up Ginbey and Busslinger left who would we take?
More likely ( i hope ) Ginbey will go to a W.A. team and we get either Phillipou or Humphrey.


Some of the picks that those doing phantoms have possibly sliding to our second pick ( but probably not our 3rd ) are :
Charlie Clarke (Small Forward ). Mitchell Szybkowski (mid ). Josh Weddel ( def ) , Henry Hustwaite ( mid), Jacob Ryan ( 199cm Def ) ,Coby Burgiel( Mid Fwd)

Hustwaite probably least likely to be there, and i'd hope we snatch him up if he is.
Otherwise Clarke, Ryan or Burgiel all look good.

Szybkowski looks pretty good. I think he could be a real Merrett type of gun mid taken a bit later than he should have.

Phillipou uses the ball really well, Humphrey is a real attitude player. Gives off De Goey vibes. I'd like both.

Take all the 18YO's except the ones that are father sons.
If you had pick 10 , you get to pick the tenth player that isn't a father son.
if you had pick 40 , you get to pick the 40th player that isn't a father son.

Ginby worries me as a bloke who has played minimal midfield. Would rather Mattaeus or Humphrey who can impact forward of the ball. If these guys fail to become mids I would rather a Rayner/Zurhar type player than another halfback flanker.

Most phantoms have him between 19 and 27.

Yeah that actually helps us. But for the earlier picks some people seem to get upset because our pick becomes a later pick.

They will be looking upgrade points if a bid comes before 22 so not a silly idea.

Not sure those picks is much of an upgrade though

We might be able to move up if we offer 26 and 43 but it isn't a huge rise
