Sounds like he is Hawthorn bound.Sounds as though Humphrey is the least likely of the lot to make it to our pick.
I'm fine with that. I think we need a genuine midfielder more than anything.
I don't know about that. It really is a superdraft. The attraction is obvious and we'll wear a lot of initial ridicule for being the only suckers to trade out of it.
But that's why trading back into it for a disgruntled/less integral of our players is an integral part of the plan.
And who knows, there may be a young player on our books with huge upside end external value who despite our best efforts to retain him, is adamant on returning home and there simply is nothing left to do except get decent value for him.
Aren't Essendon and GC also keen on him?Sounds like he is Hawthorn bound.
Seems completely opposite to a traditional Hawthorn player of the last 15 years

Gold Coast keen on ginbey apparently.Hawthorn are reportedly committed to Humphrey.
Don apparently into the pouAren't Essendon and GC also keen on him?

Mate they are odds on for Reid at this point next season. They have a few really good inside types already. Ward and Newcombe look top shelf and Ned Long is promising and still have Worpol. They have a bit of a vibe like us at the moment with a very vanilla feeling to a lot of their players. They need some flash to make them watchable.
Essendon keen on the SA Bont.Aren't Essendon and GC also keen on him?
Gold Coast were apparently keen on Humphrey too. The last interview their list boss did suggested they wanted someone who could impact up forward.Gold Coast keen on ginbey apparently.
There’s an argument for the kid to be ranked so highly given his tac numbers and foot injury and yes there are also arguments as to why others like Humphrey should be there at our pick but probably won’t be. I’m just giving my opinion on what I see and noting that if there’s talk of him sliding maybe others have some doubts as well.Happy for you to have that opinion on him, but if the argument is that he some how makes it to ten than it must mean hes no good, then wouldn't it be the same for any draftee not taken by then?
It makes no sense.
I and many others would agree with you.Trade for carltons pick 11. Swop of futures. Take cmac and the tsa. Midfield sorted.
That would be a fantastic result, why do you say Humphrey isn’t a typical hawthorn pick ?. Gippsland is traditional hawthorn, the kids talented and captain of the power.I and many others would agree with you.
Issue is that Carlton wanted to trade up this draft. So let’s see.

Every year we all get fired up over our favourites, sometimes I agree and other times I just don’t see what the fuss is about, remember Bonar and Stephenson. It should be a time to get excited but let’s face it no matter how many times we’ve watched these kids our recruiting staff have seen them more, interviewed them etc so whoever they call that’s fine with me. We also don‘t know what the club sees as our priorities and how they intent to use whoever we draft and that obviously a major factor as well.
I hope we can find another 1st rounder, I’d be very happy with any two of the players mentioned around our pick.
True. Maybe they have there eye on an specific player and if he’s gone that might change there mindI and many others would agree with you.

You’re talking about him as if he’s a class above the other players mentioned around our pick and if available too good to pass up that’s what I’m responding to. I’m saying I don’t see him that way in fact I’d prefer McKenzie, that’s quite different from saying he can’t play. He’s undeniably a good accumulator with pace and endurance.I'm not fired up
And as I've said, happy for you to have a different opinion than most
The only thing that doesn't make sense is you suggesting that if he makes it to 10 it must mean hes not that got. Surely that would go for anyone taken after pick 9 if that's the case. I'm not sure why it should be any different to if McKenzie is there at 10
I doubt we'd even be talking about the chance of him making it to us if there wasn't a go home factor though
I posted a few weeks back that Hawthorn's midfield is lacking a real dynamic player... so Humphrey or Phillipou would make sense to them over McKenzie, Clark or Hewitt.Sounds like he is Hawthorn bound.

Sounds like he just needs some Ben Dixon tutoring. They usually draft elite disposal players.
Not players who when they kick a set shot it could go anywhere.

I can understand calling Humphrey dynamic. He size and power etc.I posted a few weeks back that Hawthorn's midfield is lacking a real dynamic player... so Humphrey or Phillipou would make sense to them over McKenzie, Clark or Hewitt.
There's a massive chance that Cam gets through to us now.
I think we'll get a bit of insight into how the club sees Windy & Owens developing with the decision on draft night.
We go McKenzie & they obviously think we have our dynamic, burst, goal kicking mids in Marcus & Mitch.
We go Phillipou then maybe they're unsure... or maybe they want a collective group of bigger mids who can go forward & have an impact.
Personally I think we really lack that pure, playmaking mid that can get the pill to others in a better position.
All in for #TeamCMC
Because the people rating him aren't judging him off one highlights package of a game that was probably far from his best
Here is a couple more for the non believers
