Low risk, low reward signing that won’t take us anywhere. Yep sounds like a Gallagher special.Less of a disappointment than Narkle.
Concentrate on some young mids at the draft, Anderson can be a meat and potatoes back up at Sandy.
Then again, watching the GF, Geelong made a point of moving the ball fast from player to player, no matter who had possession- nobody held on to the ball long enough for Sydney to put defensive moves into place anywhere across the ground.
It was sort of a direct opposite to how we had been playing- stop, start, stop start, get momentum then stop, and in the meantime, the opposition easily put defensive plays into place and had our midfield to half forward area covered most times.
Anderson is the definition of a list clogger and I usually hate that termMature aged support for the young mids we'll have playing at Sandy once the draft is finished.
I am about to kill Bambi, but I'd actually prefer having him running around at Sandy than wasting another year waiting to see if Bytel makes it to AFL level.
Pick up Anderson, delist Bytel then have a crack at getting lucky with Pick 47.

Actually its all irrelevant - didn't realise that Bytel had recently signed a new contract.Anderson is the definition of a list clogger and I usually hate that term
Bringing in a 29 year old to play reserves when you could be backing in kids
Bytel may not make it but at this stage of his career he's more chance than Anderson
Nah his 1 year extension was announced during the final days of trade week.Actually its all irrelevant - didn't realise that Bytel had recently signed a new contract.
I thought he was still hung out on the clothes line waiting for a contract so I'd assumed the club had pretty much moved on from him hence my interest in a mature age back up.
I got the jokeI'd chuck Ronke and Rowe in that mix of players. Need more small forwards to keep Butler honest, and Higgins to a lesser extent.
Anderson is quality and has the versatility to go forward. Would approve. Narkle seems destined for WA it seems.
RIP Bambi.Mature aged support for the young mids we'll have playing at Sandy once the draft is finished.

The Brownbagger's salary cap full?Yet for all this Carlton only finished one ladder spot ahead of us. Their Salary Cap is full as well as they overpayed for in effect two Brad Hills. They have a marginal ruck and an average last 6 players....eerily similar to RTB in our heyday
In a year they had the best player and goalkicker in the league they still missed finals...is all I need to know.
Saints with a new coach and attitude is just as exiting entering next year as the Blues.

No current season stats available
why 'surely'?Not sure where to post this, but surely we look at Jake Stein as a back up defender through this Delisted Free Agency period.
Keeping in mind they had the 2nd easiest draw last season. Saints had one of the toughest, which is often lost in reviewing the performance of the team.Carlton were smashed by injuries this year especially their backline, will be an interesting watch next year

If as expected we pick up a good mid in the draft , we don't need another midfielder taking up positions in the 2s that need to be given to the youngsters.Wasting a year?
How is recruiting a 29 not simply wasting a year or two?
Unless you expect him to go full Harvey, there is no future there.
Ohhhh the new recruit we get in the first round of the draft may not play much next year, lets not "waste " that year and get some old delisted player instead.
Some reporter today has the Giants picking Stein as a DFA, not sure if he knows something or is having a stab in the dark. Not sure where to post this, but surely we look at Jake Stein as a back up defender through this Delisted Free Agency period.
Would be a strange move after delisting him...Some reporter today has the Giants picking Stein as a DFA, not sure if he knows something or is having a stab in the dark.
