Also worth noting.
Cmac won’t be a mid in his first few years. He will be a HFF/wing etc.
So realistically anyone we draft won’t be a huge difference in the guts.
But it might mean someone else moving in there who can![]()
Yeah - I think the immediate move will be Sinclair. Rory Laird style.Sinclair? It will be interesting to see what we do with him. He could be a powerhouse in the guts but he's also valuable across half back.

You could make the same argument about Philapoo, Hollands, heck anyone outside the top 4/5Also worth noting.

His family still live in Brisbane, his old man coaches a local club up there. So the go home factor would be too much IMO.Leftfield option: Jaspa Fletcher. Balanced midfielder, averaged 23 disposals, part of the Lions Academy (F/S). His old man also played some footy at the Saints. Expected to go around pick 20 and the Lions are already scrambling to have enough points for Ashcroft. Good chance if we pulled the trigger at pick 10 the Lions wouldn't match.
Agree that was Rattens biggest error last season IMO. When our mids were getting slaughtered out of the middle he didnt use different players eg Sinclair through there.Sinclair? He would be sensational and plays with that in your face attitude our side needs. Although I think we might have to move up the order to get him?How would Charlie Clarke go as a second round pick?
Put the 10 on ice for him to break the curseCouple of years and he’ll be good to go
looks like he's grown a few inchesCouple of years and he’ll be good to go

Many considered Johnson to be the biggest slider in the draft thoughJohnson went another 7ish picks behind Chesser though.
We are talking about Busslinger who will go before their next pick and arguably could be taken the very next pick - as he fills a role we ******* suck at.
Phillipou is a mid. That is where he has played the majority of the year.I'm not disagreeing that we need to find elite mids. But that doesn't mean you pick a mid just for the sake of it. Realistically, the top end mids will all be gone before our pick. I would love McKenzie but he's 50/50 to be available. Hollands is the next rung down and will probably be there for us. Or do we pick a guy like Phillipou who isn't a mid but we hope can transition to the midfield (see Billings).
More of a forward that has tested the water as a midfielder isn’t he?Phillipou is a mid. That is where he has played the majority of the year.
Very different to Billing who was a genuine half forward
Quite possibly. Played as a high productive third tall in his underage year. Hasn’t had a lot of exposure this year due to injury. Looks like he can take a contested mark at least. Often described as a Nat Fyfe type - he started as a medium forward.Phillipou can play on the inside a bit more than Billings i should think.

Those stats are from the state championships, where he played injured some of the tournament. He's also effectively playing as an under-ager with such a late birthday which makes some of his numbers a tad more impressive than they look on paper.
He looks to be one of the players who could be a superstar - being compared to Fyfe and Dangerfield. Those stats are from the state championships, where he played injured some of the tournament. He's an enigma for me.How would Charlie Clarke go as a second round pick?
His 2 minutes highlights package & the way he is often described gets me excited for sure. I am just not sure he’s a safe option to pick m & if we can afford to take such a risk. I’d love Mckenzie to be available. Seems a flip of the coin though. Those stats are from the state championships, where he played injured some of the tournament. I couldn’t disagree with that comment more. One of the more consistent players all year. Finished ahead of Sheezel at dragons in best & fairest. Plenty of footage of him giving goals off and while at times has shots he shouldn’t that’s what all fwds do. The give up comment is perplexing to say the lease. I doubt you watched him live. I will state I know his father so a little biased but as I stated that’s a poor assessment. He's an enigma for me.
Sometimes I think he has the ability to be game breaker, can break tackles like few others and can be game winner.
On the other hand, he can go missing at times, can be selfish and gives up. I think clubs will look positively on him.
