Im really warming to Drury too. Not sure where he goes but he looks a ripper. If you could grab him with a second rounder he looks the goods.
Blake Drury
Midfielder/Forward, VIC
Age: 11/01/04
Weight: 74kg
Height: 178cm
Club: Vic Metro/Oakleigh Chargers/ Vermont FC/Caulfield Grammar
2022 National Champs90 ranking points, 21 disposals, 5.7 inside-50s, 3.3 marks, 1.7 clearances, 1 goals, 8.7 score involvements, 2 tackles (three games)
A ball-winner with great speed and endurance, Drury has played as a midfielder for Oakleigh Chargers in the NAB League this year. However, he has predominantly been used as a high half-forward with Vic Metro, which is seen as the role he would play at the next level. He has good footy smarts, explosive breakaway speed away from the contest and generally finds a target with his kicking inside-50. When playing forward, Drury is a dangerous match-up given his evasiveness and knack of using his running ability to find space and separation on his opponent. Drury booted two goals among 12 score involvements from 21 disposals against South Australia in Vic Metro’s third game of the national championships, displaying the scoreboard damage he can do. Drury’s continued development this season has come after he starred for Vic Metro at under-17s level last year.

He can play but we’ve been burnt before taking players who aren’t quite what we need. I see genuine quality mids at our pick so it’s a no from me and if we had two picks I’d take two mids McKenzie and humphrey.Think he looks a bit more proper mid/forward than some. Looks quite good when he goes on ball but definitely more dangerous around goal.
I admit I wasn't too keen on taking Naughton, but wish we had now.Without checking back (cos I can’t be bothered) I’m sure that is a common theme amongst posters leading up to every draft.
Still doesn’t stop many on here moaning we didn’t take Aaron Naughton, who despite his current role in the forward line, was being sold in the 2017 draft showroom as a backman.
I remember him as an incredible mark who couldn’t kick, might still be his Achilles heal under pressure in defence.I admit I wasn't too keen on taking Naughton, but wish we had now.
I've got no doubt he'd be one of the best backs in the comp if they kept him there and it may well happen with the kids they have coming through.
Some very good key defender prospects taken in the first round of late including Gibcus, Granger-Baras, DeKoning
McCasey really the only flop in amongst them.
Big Busslinger looks like a very neat kick which is half the reason I'm keen on him.I remember him as an incredible mark who couldn’t kick, might still be his Achilles heal under pressure in defence.

Where has the Bruhn talk come from. Have heard nothing at all, and would cost plenty. If we are pretty much delisting Bytel and looking at Bruhn I doubt we can fit a pure mid, especially if De Goey comes. Humphrey and Sheezel types are at least adaptable. Billings and others were a * up because we wanted them to carry our midfield with no-one to shield them on top of being built like a coat hanger.

Henry Hustwaite is the one who has caught my eye. 194cm and 84kg means he's ready to roll physically against fully grown men. Started the year as a key defender yet recently has been moved into the middle and is getting good numbers. Appears strong in the contest. Breaks tackles.
Ideally he makes it as an outside mid but i think he has a spot as a future winger with his good speed, and worst case, he plays back.
Currently ranked 15 at draft central.
"
Foxfooty.com.au spoke to five recruiters for this piece – and all remain fascinated and somewhat unsure on Stingrays prospect Henry Hustwaite. One scout labelled the Vic Country player one of the 2022 class’ “biggest conundrums”.
Hustwaite continued his steady 2022 rise with a strong carnival for Country, averaging 21.7 disposals, 10.3 contested possessions and 4.3 tackles from three games playing as a 194cm inside midfielder.
Recruiters love Hustwaite’s agility, ball-winning ability and elite hands in traffic. But some have a query on his versatility, foot skills – even though he went at 71 per cent by foot during the champs, which was the best kicking efficiency of the carnival’s top 15 ball-winners – and speed.
It wouldn’t be a surprise to Hustwaite go as early as the first round or even slide to the back-end of the draft."
Alarm bells : Started the year as a key defender yet recently has been moved into the middle and is getting good numbers.
He'll probably go pick 2 to North after they bid on Ashcroft unfortunatelyWill Sheezel be around for our pick?
Seems to be dominating

Rare air: The top-10 draft hopeful with MASSIVE numbers
It's been eight years since a young player has had ranking points as high as Harry Sheezel'swww.afl.com.au
Sadly not, seems to be at latest top 5. Would love him as we might not have to get a match winner through a trade and using money elsewhere, plus he's a terrific blokeWill Sheezel be around for our pick?

He had 28 disposals to go with a lazy 6.2 in this match. Absolutely nuts
