Jason Horne-Buttercup, very good.Imagine what it was like for people who immigrated to Australia in the 1960s. It was a long ship ride, with Airlines mainly for the wealthy. Some of them would never see some of their friends and family ever again.
International phonecalls were hideous, it was mostly letters.
Even in the 1990's my wife and i had $300 phone bills because we moved to Perth from Victoria.
Air fares back then would have been a hinderance even to AFL players.
Now they can Zoom or talk or text whenever they want.
I don't know what its like nowdays for armed forces, but the Navy in particular used to be long periods away from home.
AFL players are meant to be tough. Fine go home to mummy, but don't complain if i call you buttercup.
Ethan Phillips?
Nah they just took lead out the petrol and a lot of behaviours changed.

Would be a good hail, particuarlt the first 2 picks. Would prefer not to go with another slightly undersized key defender but apart from that, the types of players seem pretty spot on.eth-dog has his phantom draft up for this year. Gotta say, I'd be pretty happy with this outcome, although I think we will take a key defender with one of those picks
Pick 10, St. Kilda: Cameron Mackenzie (SD, 187/80, IM). Mackenzie is a St. Kilda next generation academy player but with them not getting rights to him until after pick 40 I'd expect them to take him here after investing time into him. Mackenzie adds to St. Kilda's midfield stocks and will be one to possibly have an immediate impact for next year.
Others considered: Matthew Jefferson, Olli Hotton
Pick 31, St. Kilda: Jakob Ryan (Glenelg, 189/77, MD)
Pick 35, St. Kilda: Max Gruzewski (OC, 192/84, Utility)
Pick 47, St. Kilda: Harry Cole (Claremont, 186/77, MF)
I didn't realise Max Gruzewski was more of a defender. I thought he looked good playing forward in the Metro v Country game.Would be a good hail, particuarlt the first 2 picks. Looking at the 'others considered' , I'd be disappointed if we took Jefferson at the expense one one of Mckenzie, Humphrey or Phillipou
I just went off the draft central write up of him. Wouldn't be a bad pick up and seems to have some very good attributes but their description of him as a third tall and someone not having a stand out position is a bit off putting given what we already have.I didn't realise Max Gruzewski was more of a defender. 193cm isn't ideal for what we want for a key defender
Got a good leap on him though
He reminded a lot of Mitch Georgiades in Champs final. Looked like a key forward in that game, but its a very small sample size.I just went off the draft central write up of him. I think if he's relying on his leap he's probably more likely to make it as a genuine key position player up the front end rather than back

Hopefully McKenzie is too similar to the 3 they have just recruitedWhat is gonna s**t me is if Geelong miss Clark. I reckon they take Mackenzie. Imagine the melt
Think we need a line-breaking, run & carry small defender- Darcy Jones who is really a utility player at this stage.Yeah the priorities definitely are play making mid, burst mid, tall forward, tall defender, small forward.

Greater Western Sydney is yet to decide whether it will bid on Brisbane father-son Will Ashcroft after securing the No.1 pick as part of a bumper draft hand. Can any Herald Sun subscribers please share the contents of this article please and thank you
This is just the Saints section (on my phone, sorry bud).Anyone got this bad boy
We'd be struggling if he gets a game I reckonJed Anderson delisted.
Rekon RTB would love his attack on the footy and player.
Perfect replacement for longStack is definitely the only Delistee I'd want to have us look at as an immediate pick up, presuming RTB is on his way and could kick metaphorical butt.
Then maybe leave a list spot open and have one or two of blokes like Stocker, Narkle and RCD (along with a state leaguer) put in a preseason and see what they have to offer in terms of effort and cohesion.
If he's happy to be depth its a no brainer. He's not a bad footballer. We'd be struggling if he gets a game I reckon
I just don't see the reason we'd bring in a 29 year old depth player unless it's a back up ruck.If he's happy to be depth its a no brainer. He's not a bad footballer.
