It's the double ups that are bullshit. Clubs trade out of their early rounds so get to double dip. The Dogs got to trade out to get JUH and Treloar with their picks. It's pushing top clubs further away from the rebuilding sides and is much worse than the old priority pick system. Add the free agency system and it's the most uneven system since pre equalisation days.

Changing half way through allowed clubs like the Dogs to benefit and then cutting them off meant no-one else had the same advantage. The AFL should have compensated all other sides with one first round academy pick from their own academy that gives sides a chance to catch up. Maybe within the next 5 years or a time frame like that. They need to address equalisation immediately. It takes 5 years to filter through so decisions now won't show up for a long time.

Under my system the Dogs after trading for Treloar would have had to use a first round pick from 2021 to get JUH.
That would have meant that they then needed to use their 2022 first round pick to get Darcy.
So they still could have had their academy and F/s picks, but they would have no first round pick this year.

The cards seem to be falling our way on McKenzie. The clubs picking before us appear to be committing to other players if the rumours are true.

Although they are highlights, his kicking is beautiful. Isnt pulling off those ridiculous needle threading passes but more of a super consistent Lenny Hayes style that just delivers perfectly to the forwards.

But, Geelong isn't fooled as they had a tip off when he was in under 15's and watching him ever since.
Apparently he is very very high on Geelongs draft board and the only knock is a possible go home factor however, if he did the return would be very high as in multiple 1st rounds.

Eagles are betting on how the draft will pan out and are throwing smokescreens regarding buzzlinger as they know the only other club who may take him is Geelong that way they draft another quality kid and still get buzzlinger at 12.

But, if he slips to 12 will be the steal of the draft and be the player where you go how did he go at 12?

If he's miles ahead of Naughton (hard to believe) and tracking better Gibcus than WC would not risk him getting to 12, they would take him at 8.

He's a very promising prospect but I feel they way yo7 have talked him up there he should be gone well before our pick.

Played the city v country match. I really liked the look of him but a few on here were disparaging about him.
