Hope we have a look at Anthony Munkura at pick32 or better still some how upgrade pick 47 to 39 with the doggies, just so we can dodo the dodo, definitely has a bit of x factor, that we are overdue for.

I don’t think that would be a great idea to be honest. He’s close with Tippa and desperate to get to the dons, there are other players I’d he happy to take with no retention problems. When players are going to be picked in the general area their talent determines I’m happy enough to respect their wishes.

A few rumours posted on the main board from PMBangers
  • Obvious first four selections are Cadman, Wardlaw, Sheezel and Ashcroft, no need to address that
  • Essendon's pick obviously shapes the rest of the next 10 picks, think they're leaning Humphrey atm
  • Gold Coast deciding between Ginbey (leading), Clark and Humphrey
  • Saints likely take whoever of Mackenzie or Phillipou are left
  • Jacob Konstanty and Charlie Clarke both heavily linked to GWS, apparently Clarke has interest from Collingwood too so may pounce at 16
  • GWS likely to trade out 19 on the second night, wait and see on the offers but from my bias POV we should be able to get a future first
  • Elijah Hewett may slide into the 30's, 75% chance he doesn't go first round at the very least
  • For NGA's; Cooper Vickery the most likely to go prior to 41 (apart from Mackenzie obviously) which would mean Hawks miss out, Munkara and the rest should get through

Is there a chance if both MacKenzie and Phillipou are left at our pick, we trade a future first to Carlton to snag both ?

Potentially there are our 2 successful drafts then?
We would need to give our 2nd rounder from this year and next year as well ?
Still don't think Carlton would do it

Who do you think we will end up getting BM ?
Who is your realistic preferred option ?
In order of preference

Tsatas
Philppou
Mackenzie
Clark

But it's that tight I'd be happy with any of them

Makenzie and Phillipou look the two most likely

I'm just crossing my fingers one of the four make it.

If Essendon go Tsatas it'll make for a nervous night

Ideally, Gold Coast go with Humphrey which should leave Ginny for West Coast and have one of Phillipou or McKenzie for us.

I'm not sold West Coast are that keen on Ginbey.
Comes down to who they think won't slide past us, Carlton and the Doggies. Unless there's an interstater they really like, wouldn't be surprised to see them take Ginbey first and then one of Hewett or Busslinger - bit of speculation the Doggies would like to pounce on Ginbey

If Humphry and Ginbey go that early it leaves us with one of Clarke, Tsatas, Philppou or Mackenzie
We just need Ginbey to be taken before our pick & we are assured of one of those blokes. Hopefully GC take him. I would love Humphrey as much as the others you mentioned, if not more.

Glen, what makes you so hot for Humphrey?
I have no preferences for any of the likely candidates other than CMac for sentimental (NGA) reasons, plus I cannot pretend to have any expertise in this area.

My name isnt Glen BTW. Sorry, I just had to point that out because I don’t particularly like the name (apologies to any Glen’s out there).

It’s no secret our team contains a lot of B graders & lacks match winners. Humphrey is likened to De Goey & Petracca because he’s a true hybrid forward-mid that plays with serious intensity. He’s a bit of a powerhouse that impacts the game in bursts & is very good one on one. His knock is he isn’t the most accurate kick for goal. But gets lots of looks at goal.

From memory he averaged 20 touches, 2 goals & 100 fantasy points a game throughout the year. I just think we need to take a bit of a punt on a bloke that has the potential to be elite.

Not as safe a bet as some of the others but could be anything. Problem is he is very unlikely to make it to our pick, so it’s a moot point.

Trigger with Ross Lyon at the helm now I fully expect him to go thrown all the scouting video's , interviews and combine stat's to pick out his draft expectation's and will pick best available at the particular spot and of course with Harvey , Hayes , Roughead , Goddard input.

For others reading, I have no idea what this poster’s name actually is.

Apologies for using your previous nick.
Just that I was a tremendous admirer of it’s wit.

He’s the type of player we’d trade up for. If he’s available at our pick we’d pounce.
GC really need a creative half forward, especially now that Rankine has left. I can't see Humphrey getting passed their pick.

However, I also reckon Essendon also have the same need up forward, and while Tippa's return has helped, I reckon they snatch Humphrey up at 5.

So now who do GC run with? I reckon they take Busslinger in a reach to fill needs, the same way they reached for Mac Andrew last year. With the retirement of Rory Thompson they have scant talls down back. Sam Collins, Charlie Ballard then...Mac Andrew (201cm)? Jy Farrar (191cm)?

By the way, I saw a neat post by PMBangers on why Tsatas could slide, see below

Accumulation, run and carry and just his power (acceleration, leap, top speed) are things that he does better than 95% of the draft class, and his balance as a midfielder is superb, can switch from a receiver to inside ball winner immediately, but also can play on the wing well, and his stoppage craft is superb.

The main things that will see him slide, if he does, would be his ball use at top speed/ under pressure and lack of defensive game. I actually think his ball use is decent out in space, can sometimes get under the ball too much on his kicks but imo that's an easy fix in a full time environment, and when he's kicking on an angle you barely ever see it which tells me he's got good technique at his core. His handballing in the thick of things can be a bit loopy too, looks like he goes 100% in getting out of a tackle and then panics with what to do afterwards.

The defensive stuff is, to be blunt, inexcusable though, there are times where he's been in the best position of his team to lay a tackle and he hasn't gone for it, that stuff I don't think is easily coached so I reckon that's the main sticking point.

Exactly man. I'm in Ireland and the only reason I have any type of inclination for CMac is because he's the most I've heard about...and Phillipou (or however you spell it) because someone said he's another option. I've heard some here go on about Gibney, but it doesn't seem realistic. The other two do. Other than that...there's the big fellah from SA who is mates with Wangmil for a later pick. It's probably not enough to start fights with other posters with though...however, that feckin' McKenna fella' 🤣

I just don't understand the academies what's the point of putting in the time and effort to develop these young men into gun footballers and then you don't even get access to them?

Just dosent make sense!

Either give the club access first at any point in the draft or don't have academies at all.

Humphrey is more Stringer than Tippa. They also look likely to get Munkara who looks very similar. They still need talls and a taller mid seems to be their obsession every year. I'd be all over Busslinger if I was them.

Have the Davey brothers coming in too.
Imagine they will look to an inside mid and take best available but I reckon they could do with an outside mid like Tsatas.
