What's the chances that the media are linking us to Isaac Keeler simply because he plays like young Paddy Ryder and they go - wow didn't Paddy Ryder just retire from St Kilda.

Join the dots - its happening!!!

Its pretty dumb to assume that teams all line up on a particular player.
Some people think Keeler will go 13th in the draft.
He has to slide a long way to make it to us, if he does its not because of some bullshit . Its because he's rated highly and slid.

It's probably because we need a good young ruck and a good young key forward.

Makes sense?

I dont think there is any doubt Keeler will be gone by 47
Great - will stop us overspending on a tall "prospect". We already have Marshall filling the main spot with Campbell and Heath as back ups. Not sure we should be spending a second rounder on another ruck/forward.

There seems to be enough tall "prospects" about to find one at Pick 47 or rookie and use 9, 28 and 32 on other more pressing needs.

Whether its Keeler, Barnett, Lemmey, Northam, Scully, Bradtke - someone will slide.

Yeah I really hope we don't grab a tall with any of the ND picks. Mids, mids and more mids.

That would be disappointing. We took 3 mids last year. We've got a potential mid training with us. We don't need to bring in 4 more through the draft.

There are other positions that need should be adding too, such as a small forward and some tall depth.

He is pretty unique if you compare him to our list and his size.

Only Max matches his agility.

We don’t have a ruck/forward prospect.

Heath would arguably be first ruck at Sandy if we were in a genuine development cycle

If we take the best player available at our first pick.

It will be some sort of a mid.

At 28/32 I’d be keen on Keeler/Key position player.

At 47… happy to take a risk on a bolter.

Been watching some highlights on this kid. 19. We have been linked in a few mocks.

1: Phillipou / McKenzie
2: Slider / Keeler / Clarke or Konstanty if they make it (which I doubt)
3: Phillips / Magor with our 3rd

That would be the best result l can think of.
Cmac/Poo
Keeler
Van Es
Gallagher

The one l still cant figure out is Stocker. Hes almost a facsimile of Bytel in many ways, same pros, same cons.

As long as he’s a better version it makes sense. He gets a preseason to show what he’s got.

Campbell is a 30 something year old journeyman. It's unlikely he ever plays much footy and might have a year or two left on a list.

Heath was taken in the mid season draft and so far hasn't shown he's a lock at ever making it in the AFL.

Ideally we'd love to have a long term genuine forward/ruck that we can play next to King and give Marshall a hand in the ruck.

If there is a player there available at any of those picks we'd be mad not to consider them. If Keeler made it as far as our second pick he makes as much sense as anyone.

We took two genuine mids and an outside mid with our 3 first picks last year.

It would be bizarre list management if we loaded up on 4 more mids and ignored any talls.

We need KPP's at either end and the way the draft is looking at going there will be quite a few that fit our needs that will be taken in the 2nd and third rounds.

Stocker would be a better kick and more versatile.

I’m getting Jayden Attard vibes from him and Ross

Yet Keeler is the only one that seems to be mentioned on this forum as a possibility for that position. As far as I can see, unless you are a standout Top 15 pick, it becomes more and more of a lottery as to whether any tall becomes a dominant player.

Look at the H/S mock draft - they already have another two tall options rated in the 30's alongside Keeler. And then there's a range of similar options that will probably be available in the 40's range.

30. Collingwood – Harry Barnett (West Adelaide/SA)

Ruck, 202cm, 97kg
Chris says: The Magpies have indicated some interest in selecting a young ruckman in this year’s draft and Barnett is the best available. While he has been a little inconsistent at stages this year, his best has been eye-catching to say the least. Collingwood lost Brodie Grundy during the trade period this year, after Max Lynch departed last year. Darcy Cameron and Mason Cox will have the ruck duties covered next year, but the club’s big man stocks for the future are thin.

36. Port Adelaide – Harry Lemmey (West Adelaide/SA)

Forward, 202cm, 95kg
Jordan says: If you said Port Adelaide would finish the calendar year with Jason Horne-Francis and Harry Lemmey at the start of 2021, you would’ve been laughed out of the room. The West Adelaide forward wasn’t able to maintain the standard he set in a standout bottom-age season but, despite the concerns around his competitiveness, there’s too much talent to let the homegrown product slip any further.

And the likes of Tom Scully, Olivier Northam hadn't rated a mention yet. So it might seem strange but I'd be suggesting "best available" for out first three picks and then given our current ruck/forward stocks, then maybe a late pick "prospect" at 47.

As for Max Heath - did more than enough at Sandy last year to suggest he will get games at the senior level this year.

I highly doubt Heath plays senior footy this year unless we have some major injury issues.

I seem to remember you thinking the same about Matt Allison over the last few years.

Maybe you just over rate the players we currently have.

More than happy to take any of those players you names if Keeler doesn't make it to our pick but at this stage he looks the pick of the bunch.

Whereas I'm looking at this draft as a great chance to grab talls as there are more than usual with potential who look like they're going to slide. At least one, ideally two, of Lemmey/Scully/Keeler/Van Es/Adams/Eyres/Marshall/Phillips/Foster/Northam/Verrall

Heath has had more wraps than Allison ever has and in less time. He's had some very handy VFL games, especially early in the season, dominated a game or two, which Allison has never done.

There's been enough to give some excitement, considering he's a mid-season, long term project.

Max Heaths best game was 16 disposals, 3 goals and 28 hitouts. Fair performance for an 19 yo ruck in the VFL. Tired towards the end but I'm certain he will get a run this year.

As for Allison - still think he will surprise a few this year.
