Agree.
Let’s bank 2 potential stars now and get cracking on improving this team.
I also got the impression when RTB came in that Lethlean mentioning they would like another pick in the top 30,was to have the the chance at an extra potential star to get cracking under Lyon for immediate improvement to the team

28-30 November?

the draft is over 3 days now??

No keeler?
Yeah - I noticed that. I still think its a chance that Keeler might slide a fair bit.

Archie Lovelock as a small forward at Pick 47. That's one amazing set of numbers for the U18's GF match - 35 disposals, 12 contested possessions, 11 score involvements, seven tackles

Archie Lovelock

Glenelg/SA

Draft range: 40+

After a strong start for Glenelg and two goals in the national carnival clash against the Allies, there was already interest – mainly as a pure half-forward at the next level, with the 18-year-old drawing comparison to Brisbane’s Dayne Zorko. But Lovelock enhanced his draft standing further, with a huge performance to lead his side to a SANFL under-18 premiership, tallying 35 disposals, 12 contested possessions, 11 score involvements, seven tackles and 166 points against North Adelaide. He worked tirelessly to be involved in every corner of Adelaide Oval during Glenelg’s eight-point victory, proving he can stand up in the big moments.

If we are landing 2 players who are consistent 7-8/10 that’s a win.

Even if it cost me the slight chance at an 8.5-9/10.

There is every chance we are picking in a similar position next year.
Didn't you say you'd also give up a 2nd rounder this year? Or did I read that wrong?

If that's the case I can't see that as a win

I did say that.

I’m a firm believer that if we have done the work and really rate someone. Then pull the trigger.

I'm too traumatised by our past recruiting to trust them to get it right.

This is where we need balls of steel if Ginbey goes to the hawks and go all out for west coasts pick.

Future first and 47 for 9?

Cmac and Tsatas/Clark
Would be great to get that but west coast would have to be one of the last teams to want to trade out of this year. They are right at the start of a big rebuild. Pushing a pick back a year is a terrible move for them

100%.

But I would be disappointed if we didn’t try and throw everything reasonable at it

Same goes for the blues and dogs picks

Next year’s top end is apparently chockers with interstate kids.

Of our small to medium sized players only McKenzie & Coffield would be considered strong over head marks. It has been a list weakness for sometime.
Steele is one of the strongest overhead for someone his size (who plays midfield at least) of anyone I’ve seen play the game.

Can't agree with that one then

If it was just a straight swap of first rounders, maybe I'd u understand if there was someone there we really rated.

But to also give up out first 2nd rounder would be madness.

Some really good prospects around that area that would suit oùr needs, and that's even before thinking about how good next years pick may be.

I'd be filthy if we did that I reckon

Sydney always thought that about Lenny, up to the club to have a strong enough culture to want him to stay

Geelong will hit a cliff soon. I know it's been said for a decade but their youth are a long way back compared to their over 30s. They actually went flat out at a flag and have stopped doing the management that got them to be a consistent finalist for so long.
