Humphrey Bear will be long gone.

Reckon Essendon takes Phillipou, we get a choice of Tsatas, CMAC, or Clark.

No opinion on who we take

As for that fraud John Doe, saying Essendon say Phillipou is simply better than Tsatsas doesn't make it fact.
Top ten littered with a team selecting one over the other and the other being better.
It is easier now but there is a lot of football to be had by an 18 y.o junior before that pronouncement is made.
Agree. I'm sure GWS believe Wardlaw and Sheezel are better than Cadman too, but that doesn't mean they'll pick either of them..

Yeah I don't understand the high bust discussion with him at all.

Looks a very safe pick. If he doesn't become an elite mid he's going to be a very good forward.
I suspect the talk of him potentially “busting” is due to his personality, not his football. Football-wise he looks a very safe bet.

Someone on the D&T board made a good point, that if Pou happens to get through Hawthorns pick, some of the clubs with picks in the teens who rate him really highly might make a big play for say West Coast’s first pick.

Melbourne for instance have been reported as being super-keen on him. While the Dogs would presumably love another Bont. If they traded with West Coast, West Coast could still get two of the highly rated West Aussies with picks 12 and 14. Maybe even Ginbey.

So much water to go under the bridge.

Hewett is a jet. Would play from day 1. Would love us to do a deal with GWS for an extra first round pick
I would also try to pry GWS 57, 61 off them.
(Most likely around 51 and 55 after F/S points)

Bombers are short points for Davey and have to use their second round pick to grab him.
Pick swap 57, 61 (51,55) and 9 for pick 4

It’s was going to be Tastsa or Phillipou anyway, just gives the saints first option, but now Ess don’t need to use pick 22 for Davey. Would be tempting for them.

I would like to hear you try and sell that to Dodo.

Souup is an AFL scout.

So best listen to his views.

As you can see, he also has access to all the historical champion data databases as well as all current physical testing data from the preseason NAB League testing and Combine testing.
Yeah seemed a pretty good chance of being the case going by the detail in his posts.

Here’s what he said about Keeler, who we’re being linked to:

“The issue for Keeler is clearly between the ears which I have no personal insight into. I have heard it referenced on a number of occasions by others and it's unfortunate.

Purely from a size, athleticism and skill point of view, he's a top 10 talent in this draft at worst.

Clubs from the 2nd tier up are preaching and protecting their culture and character of players above all else more than ever. It really depends to what degree his issues might impact him and others - it's obviously a spectrum. Some players have issues which are less impacting on others and are worth picking up hoping they turn it around, while with others the risk is too significant which can lead to them missing out altogether.

I hope for his sake he ends up on a list and something clicks at some point, because he's an exciting talent.”

Here’s what he said a couple of months ago when asked how this years draft compared to last year’s.

Yeah that's quite hard to do but I'll try to compare.

I think JHF and Daicos would be #1 and #2 in this draft.

But then I'd personally have all of Wardlaw, Sheezel, Phillipou and Ashcroft ahead of Callaghan, Mac Andrew and Rachele.

The best key defender in this draft is better than the best in last years (Busslinger > Gibcus - and I really like/d Gibcus)
Sam Darcy would be the best tall forward ahead of Keeler and Cadman.
Cowan > Any flankers taken last year pretty easily.
Midfielders in the top 20 are pretty similar. Josh Ward, Ben Hobbs are pretty similar to Elijah Hewett and Jhye Clark. I'd have Bailey Humphrey ahead of these guys though, but no one's really talking about him.

Overall the depth of talent is pretty similar for me. I reckon it bats around 35 deep.”

I think the gunslinger is being underrated here. Apparently played injured this year. If it happened to be that the original “top 9” were all gone by 10 and we were tossing up between him and Ginbey, I’d have no issue with us taking Buss. He definitely fits a need and if he’s as good or better than Gibcus (who we tried to trade up for?) then happy days.

Those who play KPD are exceptionally safe bets in the first dozen or so picks. Incredibly low bust-rate over the last 20 years.

Beatson said he expected pick trading in top 10 and it would be a long night, they rate 7 players and would make offers with 14 and 17 to get one of them. Could make us miss out on one of CMac, Elijah or Phillipou
Torrents of water to go under the bridge yet.

I wonder if we’d do 10 (and maybe something) for 14 and 17 if our top 9 are all gone and we think we can get Hewett at 14?

Have to seriously consider it.

I wonder who our target would be to be in discussions with Hawthorn about a pick swap?

Fair chance that whoever Essendon don't pick out of Tsatas and Phillipou could make it to 10 so that tells me it's probably Mackenzie.

Maybe we've been scared off Phillipou due to the figjam

I'd hate to give up too much, quite happy with where our pick sits right now

Access to Ginbey ahead of the Eagles.
