With the prospect that our future 1st could be as high as even pick 1, we would surely get something back along with GWS’s pick 15.

A lot of it would depend on where they project us to finish.

If they think our wheels are about to fall off we could get say 15 and 19 for our F1 and 32. Or something along those lines.
I highly doubt we'd be getting anything back

Pou is perfect honestly. We need some height and tbh we need some arrogance within the group. It would fix the whole battle and wood utility problem.

It's up to the coaches to get the best out of them.

We have too many sheep who crumble as soon as the heat gets turned up.

Imagine if billings had a bit of attitude.

I also think trading into this year's draft might make sense problem is I don't rate our recruitment.

His output just hasn't been there this year.

He was good in one champs game but average in the rest

Has played decent senior footy but never really set the world on fire

His game style has been compared to Dusty and Petracca but just hasn't shown anywhere near the type of quality those guys had

That's completely fair. The output this year has been sub par vs what you'd expect from someone with that skillset. Hopefully not a case of peaking early and I've completely mis-evaluated. I only watch vety occasionally, who knows :)

Consistency seemed to be his knock. He passes the eye test.

He has the self-belied and on-field talent to be a special player, if it clicks, at AFL level. But just where WA on-baller Hewett is taken in the upcoming draft remains a mystery. After a slow start to his 2022 campaign, Hewett announced himself as one of Western Australia’s top prospects with a terrific carnival showing against Vic Metro, showing off breathtaking power at the coalface and finishing with a game-high 29 disposals, 11 inside 50s, six marks, five clearances and two telling goals. He also played nine WAFL league matches for Swan Districts this year, averaging 14 disposals and kicking one goal in each of his last four games. The explosive and agile prospect, however, is polarising AFL clubs, with one recruiter declaring his draft range was between Picks 12 and 40. Hewett recently spoke with St Kilda coach Ross Lyon, with the Saints (Pick 9) doing work on him. He’s also been linked to the Eagles, Crows, Blues and Giants. On talent alone, Hewett is a first-round pick, but some recruiters wouldn’t be surprised if he slipped to the back-end of the second round.

Don't forget, Hewett played against men all year in the WAFL, not just juniors. People stating the consistency factor may not understand context and how he has contributed as a boy in a senior team.

I was of the understanding that he was dropping in rankings because of his off field stuff. Changed high schools between Year 11 and 12, and believe he may have had a run in in his under-age year in the Champs (kicked or pushed a player on the ground?)

TBH, I don't care. 2 Figjams are better than one. Let's hope the BDE rubs off on small chol Bildick.

It's not just his senior footy he is being judged on though.

He had a disappointing under 18's championships after his first game.

Clearly he's got many recruiters thinking the same way too, which would be why many have tipped him to fall to the 2nd round.

Why wouldn’t we trade with Syd. They are offering 14 and 17.

Pick swap F1st add F2nd + 28

Then we could hopefully pick up
10. Phillipou
15. Hewitt
17. Burgiel
32. Van Es
47. McLennon (NGA)

Wow! Melb throwing the kitchen sink trying to grab Ess pick 4.
Can’t see it happening though.
Ess pick 4, 22
Melb 13, F1, F1 (both between 14-18)

Will stuff up their opportunity for Tsatas and both Davey boys.

I think we have more chance to pick swap with Ess, as we still hold a top 10 pick.

That’s because we are grabbing an additional first rounder
