That 2022 second rounder could grab us Keeler who ends up the better player than Hewett and another Keeler type next year. You want to make sure you are getting on a very good horse to gamble such a lot.
Keeler is giving me Spencer White vibes.

There's a reason why a kid with his attributes is rated as low as he is.

If you're comparing the two then Hewitt is a much, much safer option.

Yeah no way we are offloading possible top 10 pick next year for Hewett. Too risky

Top 10 picks are the high end talent picks. Why would we pay the price of a high end pick for a guy thats not seen to be in that high end bracket.
Yeah , lets draft another Clark type that takes 6 years to finally show us what he is made off , Dusty had similar issues with his game at the same stage going by what i have seen in the draft profiles ,,, anywho each to their own

I'd be happy with that.

28 and F2 for 18 if he's still there.
That would value our F2 at pick 48.

I wouldn't be surprised if the value of getting another decent pick in the 2023 draft really tempts the Giants.

Maybe F2 & 47 for 18 (values F2 at 29 in a much more highly regarded draft).

Even F2 & 34 (values F2 at 40).

Take 10, 18, 28 in.

It's not just his senior footy he is being judged on though.

He had a disappointing under 18's championships after his first game.

Clearly he's got many recruiters thinking the same way too, which would be why many have tipped him to fall to the 2nd round.
In his interview he acknowledges his inconsistency and says he struggled moving from team to team (implying he had different roles in each team and also the WA boys threw the magnets around after an uninspiring start to the championships). I was very surprised by his level of maturity and eloquence. I do like Hewett, but not at 10, and not for next years first.

I still think Busslinger is a chance to go top 10 as well which would not only really open up the options at our pick, but energize other clubs looking to trade into the top 10 as well.

yeah but I still reckon it goes in waves, most recent wave was poo wave, before that was humphrey, before that mckenzie. This is just a gut feel post so i can't be proven wrong :)
When does the Jack Crisp Ginbey wave start?

Article says that we'd trade a future 2nd to get Hewett, presumably with one of our 2nds this year.
Much more palatable than a future 1st
By my reckoning
28, 47, F2nd
For
18 & 31

Bids will alter the numbers slightly but based on each club's hand l think this is roughly spot on.

What's the knock on Hewett? Is him changing high schools a couple of times down to the fact that he f...cked up somehow or is he just a bit of a tool? What are these rumoured issues, anyone know?

I wouldn't get too caught up in the draft index points

You almost always have to give up a bit extra to trade up into the first round

If we want to get up and pick a player we rate he will have to make it worth while for GWS

But there is a good chance we are picking somewhere between 10-12 next year.

So we could miss the “top end”.

Ultimately if they believe they have done the work. Trade in, grab Hewett to go with one of Tsatas/Phillipou/Cmac

everyone wants to say how bad we could be. Every chance we are in the ass end of the 8 and picking in no man’s land in the first round in 23’.
Maybe they know NWM is going back to SA which has been mentioned previously

I think his game will end up more like Gaff than Judd. I'm think a more erratic but high possession version of Nas. Footy has changed a bit since they brought in the stand rule and 666. Run, pace and spread seems to have become a much more valuable asset. Flanks are extra wings that are expected to run the field. High half forwards are extra runners too. You actually need about 6 quick endurance runners who can run end to end more than 4 grunt inside mids for today's game. Perhaps that suits guys like Tsatas?
I’m really not a fan of taking a guy like that with such a high pick but I think you’re right about the gaff comparison. He was bagged by plenty including me as a seagull who couldn‘t kick over a jam tin but he was still a very good player and hard to stop.

While Melbourne has done work on Phillipou, multiple industry sources told foxfooty.com.au on Monday morning the Demons are also closely eyeing explosive Gippsland Power forward-midfielder Bailey Humphrey, who’s been one of the top-10 bolters across the year.
I think he’s a jet who makes things happen, he’s about the only guy I’d be happy to trade up for so that doesn’t surprise me at all.

Oli Hotton flagged as pick 30 in the phantoms right now.

Surely if hes still around there wed look to trade up and nab him, kid looks a jet to me.
Is Coby Burgiel are the same number in the draft ?
